Museum billed as celebration of London women opens as Jack the Ripper exhibit

You're not against it for the commodification of the brutalised murder of women then?

It's part of the same thing. But if I tried to explain that it really would derail the thread.

Did Screaming Lord Sutch ever get any grief btw? I don't remember it if so.

There are Jack the Ripper top hats, and two varieties of ‘Keep Calm’ t-shirts.

with shit handwritten labels on shelf!

Another exciting space exploring The Ripper’s heinous crimes, is the recreation of the Lehman Street Police Station
When it was still a regular police station I had to give a statement at Leman St to a DC who looked like a downmarket version of Tosh Lines from The Bill. He spent a great deal of the time complaining about having to share the building with Women Police Officers. God knows what he'd say about sharing it with a lot of dead civilians.

because clearly, a load of dead women and a load more shit scared that they will be next is so far in the past that we need to be reminded that it once happened.....

You get the feeling that these shits would open a Fred & Rose West Museum if they thought they could make money out of it. :(
