More police brutality than you can shake a stick at.

There's some sort of Blacklivesmatter demo going on in Baton Rouge and the police have responded like... well you get the general idea:

Utter fuckwits its not the militrisation of the us police its fucking airsofting/coding a whole load of gear but no fucking idea what they are doing:facepalm: bare skin and cs gas is a really really bad idea.
A neck restraint yeah that couldnt possibly go wrong:hmm:.
Its looks like kent state is the role model they are following and people are going to be hurt/die because whose ever in charge hasnt got a clue about public order:facepalm:

Its like they have seen movies and news reels and copied the drills but without knowing or the training to know how and why the drills are done that way.
You can buy all the tactical gear or get it cheap off the us military but without officers training in how to use it if they face a crowd that does want to cooperate things will go deadly really fast.:(

My understanding is that Black as a term in race politics extends as a spectrum to all minority people of colour.... It would be good to see bkacklivesmatter open to those who identify as Latino or native American, and the campaign spread to those communities...unity strength etc
I read one of those 'click through 30 slides' type things the other day, about 'famous mixed race couples'. It was an American site. It included Matthew Mcconaughey and Camila Alves, Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Salma Hayek and some French guy, and George Clooney and his wife Amal - amongst other couples.

In other words, in the US, if a white person marries a person from Mexico or other Hispanic country, or a person from Lebanon, it's considered a mixed-race marriage.

What an unbelievable country.

my goodness, carnal weapons to the teeth - now only if andy griffith was their sheriff, if matt dillon was their marshal....

On a lighter note, W makes a complete ass of himself at what was supposed to be a solemn memorial service for the Dallas police.

NYPD: Biggest Gang in New York?
i have wondered how so much of this footage gets recorded.... hard not to cry watching this back to back footage

NYPD: Biggest Gang in New York?
In the wake of the shooting of five Dallas police officers, BBC Three follows the ‘Cop Watchers' - men and women who chase the NYPD to capture police brutality on camera.

Looks like his only defense will be "I was really trying to shoot the unarmed autistic man playing with a toy truck."
JFC I just saw the video of just before that incident, Charles Kinsey (guy who was shot) was being so calm and clear with the police, his patient very obviously had autism/learning difficulties and it was clearly not a gun he had in his hand. Glad he wasn't killed but it sounds like no thanks to the police who after he was shot cuffed him, put him face down, then let him bleed for 20 minutes with no first aid.

Looks like his only defense will be "I was really trying to shoot the unarmed autistic man playing with a toy truck."

That is exactly what his defense has been...

“The movement of the white individual looked like he was getting ready to charge a firearm into Mr. Kinsey,” said John Rivera, president of the Miami-Dade County Police Benevolent Association, “and the officer discharged, trying to strike and stop the white male, and unfortunately, he missed.”

Rivera released a statement from the officer that said in part: “I took this job to save lives and help people. I did what I had to do in a split second to accomplish that and hate to hear others paint me as something I’m not.”

“This is a case where a police officer was trying to save Mr. Kinsey’s life, and unfortunately, his shot went astray,” Rivera said.

Rivera also said his thoughts and prayers are with Kinsey.
North Miami officer on paid leave after shooting unarmed black man

In other news:

Patrol car video publicly released Thursday shows a white Austin, Texas, police officer violently throwing a black woman to the ground during a traffic stop, followed by another white officer telling her black people have "violent tendencies" and whites are justifiably afraid.

US Police Release Rare Footage Of Them Not Shooting A Black Man

In what is believed to be a world first for a US police departments, a Wisconsin police precinct has released shocking footage on an officer openly not opening fire on an unarmed black man.

So far absolutely no justification has been provided by the police department for not shooting a black man while he was not being arrested or not resisting arrest

Korryn Gaines shot and killed by Baltimore County police, 5-year-old injured in gunfire -

from FB

‪#‎KorrynGaines‬.

- 23-year-old mother who was living in Baltimore
- Unjustly killed by police in her apartment.
- She was *wanted* for *traffic violations*.
- Some goddamn traffic violations.
- Police also shot and wounded her 5-year-old son while he was in her lap.
- He is currently being hospitalized.
- Gaines had a documented history of recording police harassment/brutality via social media around Baltimore, including instances where said brutality was committed against her.
- Said social media posts were among the first things to be deleted from her phone upon her murder.
- Her social media accounts have *vanished*.
- Officers in question were Baltimore County Police Officers (not the same as Baltimore City Police Officers)
- Both departments just recently started body camera programs.

We all need to demand the release of that body camera footage.

And furthermore, let this be a reminder that women, femmes, trans folx, queer folx, and children are targeted by police as well. So when these things happen, you need to go as hard for them as you would for a cishet, straight Black man.

If you don't, you are telling on yourself and your quest for liberation and freedom from these oppressive conditions we live in is a farce.

Rest in power, Korryn.
