The suspect involved in a stand-off with police died from a gunshot wound, shortly after a police explosive device was detonated nearby, mayor Mike Rawlings has just told CNN.

The explosive device was sent in by a robot, he said.

Mr Rawlings said it was still not clear if the suspect took his own life. He was being "very bellicose and saying he was going to take everyone out," the mayor said.

He said the three suspects in custody were "not being real co-operative". The police have "brought in a lot of people" to try to get to the bottom of the motive, he added.

He declined to comment on the races of the suspect involved in the stand-off or the police officers who were killed.

He said the female suspect - one of three in custody - was a "light skinned African American".

I don't know if he's used a specific number. But I think he's spoken of the problem often and the Fed Dept of Justice has investigated some of the incidents. But yes, he could have been more forceful in his statements.

I was only thinking about a thing I read about the way some US troops descended into the trophy taking. One thing was keeping enemy weapons to plant on someone you just mowed down so as to say it was legitimate. How close can this map to the behaviour of people who confiscate tons of drugs and demi-legal handguns every year? You can understand what I suggest.
