Middle-aged man, I want update image/clothing, where do I start?.

Edwin might be worth a look.
Cheers. I looked at Edwin. I'm really looking for a pair of jeans that look new.
All the jeans I saw on the Edwin website look like they've been worn by
particularly adventurous people, without being removed, for years on end.

If you are a middle aged man, perhaps you should avoid the 'mutton dressed up as lamb' t-shirt and jeans look - I doubt it fools the chicks (just joking). :D

Maybe something like this? Smart and conservative with a touch of colour (as befits a gentleman of a certain age).

Oh. I've only ever had unwashed selvedge styles from them. Might be a current trend thing
Found these with a quick look at asos Edwin ED-55 Deck Relaxed Fit Jeans at asos.com
but they were about the only new looking Edwin there

Thanks. Yeah they don't look too bad at all. Perhaps a little bit low
on the hips? I'm fussy like that, i like to pull my jeans up a bit. Maybe
I'm just getting old!

As mentioned, Nudie jeans are very good. Expensive but they feel and look much better than cheap jeans. Worth trying a couple of pairs on just to find out, then maybe try and find a similar cut in TKMaxx or Asos that's more affordable.

Spotting people that look good to you and copying their style or a couple of items of clothing will be the easiest way to start making a change, if it's not to your personal taste it won't work. It's worth spending more on a couple of key items.

I got that too. Wondered if it was a direct response to bimble directing them to this thread...
No! i've not directed anyone at Thread to here. "mr b" did say when we chatted last week about it that all the stylists know that people think they don't exist and are just a marketing ploy, which is a bit annoying for them.
But, he has said (and I believe him) that he never looks at urban75 because what bimble gets up to is sort of none of his business.. so I have no clue how they'd know which of their new users are on this website, I assumed chilango asked Freddie directly if he exists?
Also.. that freddie photo. Look at the trees.. it seems to have been taken in midwinter, all very mysterious.:hmm:

Nope, I didn't ask.

Shall investigate further. Looks like maybe this thread has caused all freddie's clients to receive that message. :D
Mr bimble did say that people suspecting the stylists don't exist is one of the problems with Thread, so could be they've decided to do this as a result.

Following this thread with some urgency. I have a middle aged, overweight (but losing it), conservative and self conscious man, to dress.

His suits for work are sharp. His casual look is a Guns n Roses t-shirt with fat man jeans and a kind of dark green 'army' shirt with brown trainers (possibly from the grandad section of M&S). Given he needs his eye brows trimmed this is a bad look.

Send help!

Step 1. Trim eyebrows. Everything else is gravy :)

They are pretty magnificent when left in the wild state. I have not considered a gift of moustache wax but it's an excellent idea bimble

We make an unusual couple tbh.

Thing he is was achingly uncool in his 20s. He's now wearing the same rock t-shirts 20 years later with the worst fitting jeans, like tents really.

I love him dearly and I just want to help but I do not know where to start. Where do men of ahem larger stature get gear from??
