Not only that but you will see in the Snowden revelations that profiling individuals for potential weaknesses is standard including their sexual shenanigans.

That's what developed vetting is about - not so much what a risk you and your public debauchery is to the state, but what secrets can be used against you in terms of blackmail etcetera. So it's kind of a 'we don't care about it but put your cards on the table' affair.

can anyone confirm this, i heard it from a trusted pal (not a spook i think) - he said he heard it from some IT company that was selling em something or something that there is resteraunt called "license to grill" inside vauxall HQ - has anyone been? is it subsidesed? how does it compare to the tuesday grill club @ wetherspoons..

MI5 and 6 have always been 'gay friendly', and probably their predecessors too since Marlowe's time, for the utilitarian reasons previously mentioned. A useful reminder that it is possible to be progressive on gay rights and utterly reactionary in just about every other area, as so many have been.

well, who knows, but it makes sense to run brothels if you are a spook agency (wired for sound,pics)(is spy work just a branch of sex work) - and if they turn into "gay brothels) - thats fine too.
BUT, guys, i know this thread only concerns our esteemed colleagues in the military intelligence six , the secret intelligence service, who i have nothing but upmost esteem for , and regret claiming there name for my little barney up near camden tube, messing with the police the other night.
but the elephant in the room is MI5- and KINCORA (and the likeminded projects that took/take place on the mainland)-dirtying up of politcians /persons of interest , with the most abhorrent form of abuse.
now what i want to know, is - (and i may be being naive here) - is that confined to the mi5, (or did it really happen or is it woo woo CONSPIRACY THEORY) because i think there have been enough enquirys and documented sources and innuendo to think that, (and in now way linking this to homosexuality on a moral level) - that it was wholesale practice to do this.
were SIS party to this?
because to be honest anyone who sanctioned KINCORA style operations on the mainland (and they probably all dead/above the law) - and tarring the organizations they worked with,

btw i reckon that merricks mob using stasi imagery and words to try and portray the SDS as the british equivilent of the stasi was stupid as hell, and i told him (on dictaphone) - what capacity or mandate
