Mazda Owners thread

Mine's been fine so far, now 4 years old, I've had it a year and it's been good. Not done that much mileage though.
Only negatives are rear visibility and the road noise.

Have you low profile tyres, if so, changing them for less low profile will help. Also some tyres tend to be noisier than others; check reviews?

Not low profiles, just get a lot more road noise than I used to on my Volvo. Seems to be a common complaint with the Mazda 3 and is better in the new 2019 model, from what I heard.

Our model has slightly stiffer suspension and slightly lower profile, which in part, accounts for ours.

An odd car and Ive never seen the likes before. A Mazda Cosmo! Mazda Cosmo 110 S | Fast Classics

Oooh, two-rotor Wankel.

"The aural drama of a wankel rotary is extraordinary; a unique blend of high pitched scream and jet-engined thrust that accompanies the keen performance."

A quick update and gripe. Not only does my cx3 not come with any sort of spare wheel, the wheels on it have a particularly shallow rim. This means spare tyres are a special fitting making them expensive and have to be specially ordered which can take weeks.

I wasn't aware they needed a special fitment - surely any tyres of the right size will do? What was the spec of your order?

Sorry, I'm not that into rubber. The place I bought a new one were quoting 6 - 8 weeks to get one in. When I punctured one a year or two back it took a lot of phone calls to source a suitable replacement.

Perhaps they were trying to get one that matched your current tyres, as the Toyos are what they generally shipped with from new - certainly no need to do that though, the tread depth differential is likely to have been more an issue than mismatched tyres. The rim thing sounds like crossed wires or something though - thought I’d check with you as am thinking of a Mazda for my next car…

Still got mine and like it but would like something newer now. Would like another Mazda but trying to be more eco and well their options are a bit crap or mega expensive.

Test drove the electric and for the price it was a complete no go. We test drove it with 98% charge and it could barely do 100 miles. The. Just watched the range plummet when we tanked it down the m54. Took it back to garage and said. Not a chance!

We have had ours for a while now, paint is a bit iffy in parts but she is generally in good condition and low mileage. I'm getting bored with her and getting urges. Is it time to let go?
I'm thinking of a Subaru XV.

The Mazda's, certainly my vintage come with rims that need a special tyre.
So I gave her a wash earlier and noticed the rear tyres were a little down. Only closer inspection, they need replacing.
Took a quick trip to my local dealer and as expected they have to be specially ordered in a cost in the region of £250 a pair.
They did tell me the tyres were approx. 8 years old though, so fair enough.
