This thread is useless without pics!

Need to get some new mats, she obviously drove with heels on!

Also had to phone the main dealer today to get the bloody colour code, as it's not on the driver side door jamb or near the firewall under the hood as it's supposed to be. VIN sticker is on the door jamb but clearly doesn't list the colour code. Just want to touch up some stone chips!

Did the firmware update to 59.00.449 this morning (last European version before they blocked it) and it was quite easy. Just time consuming. I'd give yourself 2 hours from prepping the USB to it finishing. Followed the video in the Mazda3Revolution thread and it was all pretty straight forward.

It seemed to fix the not connecting to my iPhone's mobile hotspot problem. Although I have no idea why I'd ever do it.

I then installed the tweak to allow further tweaks installations if I choose to update the FW higher, and then installed some mods. The speedo is ok, and turning off the beeps and warning screen was useful, I also installed Android Auto for the hell of it, but obviously cannot use it being an iPhone user.

Despite doing all the above, because I'm a bit geeky, I'd probably say it's not actually worth bothering with, unless you have a bug that's annoying you in the Infotainment system, or have an Android and want Android Auto. I might order a cheap handset of Amazon tonight to arrive tomorrow and have a play, and just send the phone back under distance selling regs or whatever it's called these days. Or if it's cool, I'll keep it.

Oh while I'm here, does everyone else's coolant low temperature blue light come on every start up? I'm reading it's pretty normal, but even yesterday after leaving the car for just 4 hours it still came on, and with the temperatures as they are the moment, this surprises me. I read the light goes off when it reaches 55c and that you shouldn't over work the engine until it goes off, fair enough. However I also read the heating system doesn't work properly until the blue light goes off. Winter could be interesting!!

I haven't worked these thinks out yet, but, I would always keep an engine below 2000 revs until it's properly warmed up.

Yeah I have the blue light on when it starts but figured it wasn’t anything to worry about as it always goes off pretty quickly.

I’ve had to re-calibrate the Tyre pressure thing too, but the salesman told me about that.

OK. Android Auto is pretty cool. Also quite impressed with the £50 Android I got, which isn't too slow and just about has enough space for my music apps. Tethered off my iPhone so only downside is I lose bluetooth calls from my iPhone, and frankly. I hate talking and driving anyway! Will only use this when I don't actually know where I'm going, so won't get that much use but is nice to have and much better than the stock sat nav!

I think I'll try doing it myself.
The parts are about $130 from China, and don't look too difficult to install. Just need the firmware to be released.

The parts have arrived, extremely well packed and delivered with no duty to pay. Remarkably quick and great service. They sent photos of the items when they arrived from the supplier so that I could check them, they optionally remove any unnecessary packaging and then send the stuff on.
$165 all in which is about £125.

I may hold off installing them until the firmware is available.

EU Firmware is now available - MEGA
UK price for the upgrade has been announced as £350 Mazda rolls out Apple CarPlay upgrade

I'll watch the forums a bit this weekend and see how people get on and maybe try mine. Hot weather is always a good time to be struggling with bits of car :)

Installing my dashcam in the heat was a ballache.

Thanks for the updates. The £350 is possibly something I'd consider paying to get done by the dealer, but if it's simple enough I'm happy to have a go myself if there ends up being a youtube video or the like where i can follow exactly what someone else has done. I always worry I'm going to end up breaking plastic thou if internal interior pieces have to be prised out to get at cables! Or I'm happy to pay someone that's happy doing this sort of stuff for their time.

While I'm here. My i-stop seems to have randomly stopped working this week. The battery never glows when on the Fuel Economy Screen in the apps section, indicating the battery has obviously lost some charge. I've read some posts that this can be normal, but seems weird that it's dropped off now while constantly getting used every day, compared to it working straight away when I took it from the used car dealership, where it had for the most part been sat there doing nothing for a month and a half. I've read you can reset it without pissing about with battery wires so if it doesn't sort itself out after my next motorway run I'll try that.
