Lunch should have its own thread

A wrap

I really like wraps. Possibly as much or (dare I say?) more than sandwiches  They need just the right amount of filling, too little is bad and too much is just a mess

Today is an unusual filling. Hard boiled eggs, cheddar, watercress, red pepper, onion, salsa and chilli sauce.

Fajitas yes. Do they count? I meant as a sarnie substitute. I only ever ate one and it had half an earwig in it

They don't all have earwigs in them btw.

Fajitas are served in wraps. What did you think they came in?

I'm not keen on them either - too messy, but I was talking about those horrid things you get in coffee shops with bland uninteresting ingredients like duck in hoisin sauce

i like duck in hoisin sauce
Wraps are nice. They feel lighter and more healthy than sandwiches (although I'm sure they're not!)

I'm not keen on wraps apart from with fajitas... they seem shiny, shiny bread is suspect :hmm:

I'm ok with flatbreads though, they're not shiny  :D

I do too but the commercial sandwich filling type is oversweet and pretty disgusting

Most commercial / sandwich shop products are shit though. Regardless of bread/roll/wrap format. That is like saying all burgers are crap because you once had a microwave one you got from Tesco.

Yes. But you know me. I like a bold statement. It is necessary to make one's point a on a bulletin board.

I'm about to demolish a Soreen fruity five loaf with a nice coffee. No knife. No plate. Straight from the pack, how a real man eats his Soreen.

This thread is older than the 'tea' thread and yet is dwarfed by it.
Do U75 posters prefer the evening meal to lunch?

Free range egg & cress sarnies washed down with a cherry & cream smoothie. Celebrating 1) that Thatcher's still dead and 2) the end of counselling.

Today it's either 4 real Lancashire Eccles cakes or a tin of rice pudding and some chocolate. Choices choices... Also, hot or cold Eccles cakes/rice pudding?

Probably too late, but warm the Eccles cakes, and throw the rice pudding in the bin and have ice cream instead. Food of the gods. And of my people.

I had 2 Eccles cakes hot, 2 cold. The cold ones were vastly superior, the focus when hot is too much on the pastry for my liking. I have ice cream for next week, rice pudding is the food of the Gods!

I like 'em just warm, not hot. Enough to make the ice cream melt. We have them all the time, as my husband delivers stuff to the factory, so they always slip him a packet :D

They were nice, don't get me wrong, but when cold the flavour is much more focused on the interior which I prefer. Half and half is a good middle ground :)
