Looking after one's own: isn't than another way of saying something else?

Your overinflated ego must be nearly at bursting point. Obsessed by how very intelligent you think you are.:D

What I noticed about that article was that you'd constructed your argument around parts of the text, which you had selectivised. I believe your argument was blown out of the water by MC5.

Selectivisation is a mistake a lot of people make, made worse by the fact that too many people google a phrase, skim-read the first dozen hits and then quote text that agrees with their premise, whether it retains it's original context or not.

You're swinging your metaphorical fists like a blind man, trying to land a blow.

Try punching straight for a change. Who knows, you might enjoy it. :)

Ah, if all else fails, fall back on the auld "overinflated ego" schtick. Baillement.

Too true.

An extraodinary new low. If anybody still thinks nino is being honest - check these links.

He really does seem to inhabit a parrallel universe at times.;)

Not just dishonest but totally obsessed by any posters who question anything he has to say.:D

Anyone who migrates from one spot to an other in search for a better life, is looking after his own.

salaam.

Unlike you -eh? Your last sentence follows the pattern set in your previous posts: that is to say, there is nothing to support your contention and you can only resort to insults and ad hominems.

The only people who are "obsessed" here are you and your anti-immigration chums; you don't like the fact that you are being challenged. But what you hate even more than that, is the fact that you can no longer dominate this forum with your half-baked ideas of national identity.

Really? So how do you explain the many threads that you have started on the subject of immigration? I think anyone would see it as an obsession. For someone who claims that he isn't "obsessed" with immigration, would you care to explain the 16 threads that you started on this subject? This link doesn't lie.
http://www.urban75.net/vbulletin/search.php?searchid=2622983

You use the BNP as a cover for your own xenophobia, but you are just as bad as they are.

Funny how you use this phrase a lot, isn't it?

I reckon you're on the Right. Please don't tell me that you're some sort of 'socialist' because you're a liar. You use exactly the same language as the BNP and the NF when talking about immigration and the so-called "Left".

And that's only one page. There are probably at least another 60 threads that you've started on immigration. To even a casual observer, that looks like an obsession.

you really have made me laugh today .. i hate saying stuff like this but you are politically a moron .. or else just simply stupid ..

actually try to read what i say .. that to create a progressive revolutionay movement we need to ANALYSE what THEY are doing, WHAT processes are going on in society, AND HOW those processes affect the w/c / movement .. clearly immigration is THE major ideological issue of the moment (and one of a number if important material issues) ( only this week we have ssen the Civitas document and the statement by that other scumbag john reid) .. the left are IMPOTENT in the debate as they can not allow themselves to even think about it honestly .. so again .. the obsession is NOT with immigration BUT with the lefts idiocy on the subject

you arn't even out of the blocks .. IF you are indicitative of the left and sadly you are to an extent, i despair for the future .. mine my family and my community

p.s. i do not report posts or appeal to the mods to ban posters .. (not that i have anything against them but i like the idea we can self police)

.. if i didn't think like that i would report you and ty to get you banned .. your attacks on me are pathetic ill founded shite .. grow up and learn to read AND think

Ah, this post is full of all your favourite cliches: "The Left" is one and you can't resist calling me a "moron". How grown up of you.

I read what you say and frankly, a lot of it doesn't make sense. Your arguments are vague and incoherent and the central thrust is your dislike of immigration. You are obsessed with the subject and you think that by can sit here and deny it. Well, you're an even bigger fool than I first thought.

You have started 16 (possibly more) threads on immigration in the space of a year. That is either an obsession or you have an ideological axe to grind. I want to get at the truth and all you do is obfuscate, weave and dodge.

What is this?

if i didn't think like that i would report you and ty to get you banned .. your attacks on me are pathetic ill founded shite .. grow up and learn to read AND think

Oh, the irony! You have the cheek to tell me to "grow up" and to "read and learn". Listen, friend, you have nothing that you can teach me. That's one of the last refuges of the dishonest: take the moral high ground an accuse the other person of "not reading". Pathetic.

I promised myself no more comments on nino, but I just can't resist. I find him absolutely fascinating.

Accusing someone of not reading properly is to take the moral high ground??!!!

What can you say to that? What can you conclude from it? Being unable to read is immoral? Surely not.

yes 16 threads .. BUT NOT on immigration per se ( there are none, are there, that say ' i hate immigration' 'stop immigration' 'immigrants are dirty' 'or immigration is destroying our lovely british way of life' etc etc etc )

SO , and as you obviously have looked to see, you SHOULD have noticed they ALL relate to arguing the point that the CURRENT wave of immigration is not a free voluntary movement of individuals BUT that it is CREATED by NEOLIBERALISM / i.e capitalism and therefore HOW this affects the w/c movment and how we can create resistance to capitalism

yet again you are clearly not bright enough to see the differrence between this and what say the BNP would argue

No, durutti you're an even bigger fool if you think that the threads that you started on immigration were begun out of humanitarianism, socialism or any other kind of "ism". And, yes, all of them were about immigration per se. Stop lying.

Your second paragraph overlooks the histrory of migration. Furthermore, people migrated before the advent of neo-liberalism. Indeed, neo-liberalism provides you with a convenient cover. It's intellectually lazy to rely solely on "neo-liberalism" to support your thesis.

What you 'argue' is little different to what the BNP argues. You attempt to mask it all by dishing out insults and obfuscating.

16 threads on the subject of immigration...all of them started by you.

Most people who call themselves "socialists" tend to have a variety of issues that concern them but you only seem to have one issue: that of immigration.

durruti02, since you made a whole thread dedicated to your idea that "looking after one's own" is absolutely normal, surely you agree with my post 72 ?

salaam

Very true.
The question is on a political level is mass immigration a good thing or not. Todays Observers editorial says. "Those who are better skilled or prepared to work for less get employed ahead of the rest" It goes on "So labour migration has different effects on different sections of society"

Nobody has been arguing that immigration is all bad. But some people have been voicing concerns about the effects of mass migration.
I think the debate would have been a whole lot better without 1 or 2 people, who have been too narrow minded to engage in what is a massive issue. :(

You and your chums keep bandying this phrase "Mass migration" about as if it actually meant something. There is no "mass migration", it is a myth.

I expect you to reply with snide comments rather than rebut my statement with something that looks like "evidence".

yes what you said is true .. but it is not RIGHT that they should have to is it? it is a consequence of inequality and capitalism .. and actually in many cases does not acheive what it was meant to and the cost to the family is high .. if ou had read these threads you will know that NO ONE is blaming immigrants for migrating .. we are blaming the WASP spivs who run this country
