Leather bag staining my clothes?

I was really lucky the other day and got myself a really good quality and ace looking tan messenger/ dispatch bag.

Thing is, when I wear it with lighter coloured clothes, it leaves a mark/stain where it's been rubbing throughout the day.

What can be done to stop this happening?

any tips or advice please?

I worked for a while in a tannery (actually with dyes, I did the colour matching quite a lot, and testing dyed leather products for colour-fastness), this is pretty much a feature of leather as it is porous, but there are some things you can do to minimise the risk of dye transference, I found a pretty decent article here which saves me from writing it out.

no way, i've been after a decent bag for yonks, couldn't believe it when i found this chap, all hand stitched and made in the UK too

a sealant is whats required.

spray on is what I'm going to try
