Jeremy Corbyn's time is up

I mean even if you give it that er... generous? interpretation, Rothschild and Warburg are both flagrantly anti-semitic portrayals, so y'know.

Also I invite someone to find me a picture of a beardless Andrew Carnegie.

Re. Chris Williamson - anything other than Corbyn defending him in the Derby Telegraph in 2019?

But Mr Corbyn told Derbyshire Live that he did not believe Mr Williamson was anti-Semitic and in fact said he was an “anti-racist campaigner”.

He said: “Chris Williamson is a very good, very effective Labour MP. He’s a very strong anti-racist campaigner. He is not anti-Semitic in any way.”

I once saw a Belfast painter of murals get asked why he always painted lads with balaclavas on. "Because I'm not a good enough artist to paint faces", quoth he in response.
I've always respected Ed Hall for never letting the fact that he can't do faces for shit put him off a career where he regularly has to do faces. Would be nice if he had enough self-awareness to just do balaclavas everywhere though.

I'd agree if it was something he was likely to back up but he's repeatedly made the nasty accusation and when challenged slunk off saying nothing.

I did slink off. And cards on table I could have handled it better, been less provocative and made more effort.

For me though, seeing them cunts get a twatting was the highlight of my week. Not trying to ingratiate myself, it truly was.

But yeah, as you were. winds neck in :)

I wasn't talking about you when I said that though :)

It can certainly be argued that, given his position and his job, Corbz should have known better. However this really represents just how confusing the issue of antisemitism is given how politicised it is, perhaps relative to other, yet equally vile, forms of racism. It's also possible, though perhaps not in CW's case, that one can say a thing that is antisemitic while not realising at while also campaiging more broadly against hatred.

Eddie Dempsey of the RMT is a campaginer against racism, for example, but his stance on Brexit invited criticism from CLive Lewis on the grounds that it was people of colour who would be on the sharp end of the racism brexit would and did unleash. (Clive Lewis: "I won't hesitate to call out racism"). I see a similarity in the case of CW.

Now that doesn't excuse the fact CW has gone on to double down on red brown crankery, offering support for imperialists like Putin. Nor does it excuse the things he has said regarding the jewish community and its perceived influence. Nor do I support him or the Workers Party he has now associated with (we'll see how long that lasts).

Also they were friends, he and Jez, so it's understandable, if politically naive, that he'd want to defend him. That kind of loyalty, if you like, is one of the reasons his community likes him. They don't think he's an opportunist, a liar, or a grasping careerist.
