If they win the group then probably Ivory Coast. If they come second then Columbia.
Either of those should be a good match.

Yep - they were and I've no problem with you saying it. But why get so defensive about people biting back at the very point England are eliminated?I dared to describe England as 'deeply average' twice? OMG!

The whole tournament feels wide open at the moment :thumbs :
First off, why bring it up, twice, at the very moment we were being knocked out? You have a history of sticking the boot in when England are under-performing or losing, and this just added to that.I dared to describe England as 'deeply average' twice? OMG!
Fuck me you're the sensitive type. This is the football forum, yes? You know, where people have opinions.First off, why bring it up, twice, at the very moment we were being knocked out? You have a history of sticking the boot in when England are under-performing or losing, and this just added to that.
Second, we lost to two teams in the top 10, both above us, and we did it narrowly while creating a number of decent chances ourselves. It's not where we would like to be, but it's a damn sight better than where we have been and I'm not sure there's that much shame to be had, to be honest.
Seriously, imagine if England fans popped up on a thread just as you were failing to qualify for anything, again, and said "huh, your team's not much cop, eh?". Even if it's true, it's a little classless.

Bollix was it! You said it once, responding to nothing anyone had said, then when no-one responded to that you said it again, and again in response to nothing anyone had said. But maybe I'm missing something, what bit of chat were you responding to? Either time. And as for daring to mention the phrase a whole two times, it was in response to the ongoing chat here.
Jesus. I only called them average. And that was a fucking compliment unless you're living in some kind of fantasy land. And yes, I am sensitive about it. I don't really have a club team, I have England, and given that we only play in proper competitions every couple of years (mostly ) the emotions tend to run a little high for the two, three, four games I get to watch. For England, read Cardiff, or Dulwich Hamlet if you'd prefer.
Plus it's a compound thing - all those little digs over the years, sometimes you're going to get called on it. Especially when you do your "wot, me?" routine
It's not the content of the description ffs - no one could or did disagree - it's the shoehorning it on the costa-rica italy thread and the shocked what how could you think that face afterwards.TBF Cam there's nothing wrong with people commenting on other teams performances, I've seen you do it enough times. England fans aren't special snowflakes anymore than Spanish fans or anyone else.
'Deeply average' is a more than fair comment on England's performance.
I do - crack on.Jesus. I only called them average. And that was a fucking compliment unless you're living in some kind of fantasy land.
If you want to hear what actual 'digs' sound like I'd be happy to provide some.
They were naive and deserved to be eliminated.I do - crack on.
I think it was the denial that you were having a pop that irked, not the fact that you were having a pop.I dared to describe England as 'deeply average' twice? OMG!
Can't disagree. No one english i know reckons different. Not much of a dig mind. But come on let's be honest, you had a sly pop - no prob with that. Denying it though...They were naive and deserved to be eliminated.
You have to be pretty shit. But then I don't have a problem admitting what's right in my face.I think it was the denial that you were having a pop that irked, not the fact that you were having a pop.
If we're having sly digs, then how average do you have to be to get thumped 9-1 by Serbia over 2 legs?
It's no worse or better than 'deeply average.'Can't disagree. No one english i know reckons different. Not much of a dig mind.
But we're not talking about the quality of englands play but the quality of your choices of where and when to say it. Say it where you want - just don't deny why it was said there and then. It's no worse or better than 'deeply average.'
I know, but...TBF Cam there's nothing wrong with people commenting on other teams performances, I've seen you do it enough times. England fans aren't special snowflakes anymore than Spanish fans or anyone else.

.. that, basically. It's not the content of the description ffs - no one could or did disagree - it's the shoehorning it on the costa-rica italy thread and the shocked what how could you think that face afterwards.
If you think two remarks that a team registering its worst world cup performance in living memory were 'deeply average' you'd better buy some ear muffs when you go to a real game then because people say the most beastly things. And maybe look away from some of the threads here because some may feel England's performance was a lot worse than 'average.' (See post #109)I know, but...
.. that, basically.
Hell, I've slated our own performances as well as anyone else's, the comment(s) just grated bec of the precedent, the timing, and the manner.
Really looking forward to that game (hope it's on the telly as they would normally have the England game on. Probably on BBC/ITV3 or something?).I think Italy wilted in the heat in this game...i wouldnt rule them out against Uruguay and i think they go through on a draw in that dont they because of goal difference
only two years to Euro 2016 in Francethats us fucked for another four years then
