Is it left wing to tolerate crack dealers?

Well ıts a beautıful whıte Chrıstmas Eve here ın Istanbul, I just spent the mornıng ın bed wıth my gf, and I fear that I,ve utterly lost my wıll to argue. I thınk all of us probably agree more than we dısagree about most thıngs anyway. Respect to all, love to some, and I,ll be back ın my customary combatıve persona ın due course.

Well they certainly brought a lot of much-needed money into that community,

.. AT WHAT COST???

and I can assure you that the police crackdown was not welcomed by anybody. I haven't read the book to which you refer,

'ONCE THERE WAS A VILLAGE ' .. mainly about the 7ts but still relevent .. he clearly felt drug dealers and drugs had destroyed his community

but the LES was a thriving place in the '80's,

THINGS GO IN WAVES .. new york in the early 7ts ( i have no experiance but have seen pics !) looked like some post apocolypse nightmare .. i guess by the 8ts it had changed again ..

and certainly not "destroyed." There *isn't* much past Avenue C,

YES THERE IS!!

only Avenue D, which is still mostly housing projects,

THAT WAS MY POINT???

and the yuppies do indeed give it a wide berth. Most of the old-style punks and radicals would go there though, and anywhere else on the LES.

I'LL HAVE TO TAKE YOUR WORD FOR THAT .. i'd heard differrent
....

Crickey this one's running on and on. Happy Xmas all :p

Is phil still saying we should tolerate certain behaviour from black people but not from white people?

No you idiot.

what you seem to be saying is that it's racist not to.

Well, I am certainly saying that campaigns against dealers give white people who don't like black people an opportunity to vent their hostility without appearing overtly racist, often even to themselves.

Yeah, even when the dealers are white.

As I said, phil, better stay off it for a while, eh?

Also that such campaigns are a good way for wankers like LLETSA to feel less than totally pathetic, however temporarily.

As I said earlier, phil baby, keep digging. On the strength of this thread alone you're already prime candidate for U75 Daft Cunt of the Year.

Well I did manage to expose you as a consumate hypocrite, bigoted buffoon and in all probability ideological (and perhaps biological) kin to Pickman's Model. You must be very proud.

Go on then-quote the posts where you did that, why not?

And while you're at it, let's have some answers to the questions you have repeatedly failed to come back on, eh? There's a good lad.

Unfortunately for him, LLETSA's argument was anticipated by well-known crap 70's heavy metal twits Steppenwolf in their epic of idiocy, 'The Pusher.' I imagine that he closely resembles the hirstute and hideous lead singer.

You know I smoked a lot of grass.
Oh Lord! I popped a lot of pills.
But I've never touched nothin'
That my spirit couldn't kill.
You know I've seen a lot of people walking 'round
With tombstones in their eyes.
But the pusher don't care
If you live -- or if you die.
God Damn! The pusher.
God Damn! The pusher.
I said God Damn! God damn the pusher man.
You know the dealer, the dealer is a man
With a lump of grass in his hand.
But the pusher is a monster
Not a natural man.
The dealer for a nickel
Goin to sell you lots of sweet dreams.
Ah...but the pusher will ruin your body;
Lord he'll leave your mind to scream.
God Damn! The pusher.
God Damn! God damn the pusher.
I said God Damn! God damn the pusher man.
Well now if I were the president of this land
You know I'd declare total war on the pusher man.
I'd cut him if he stands, and I'd shoot him if he run,
And I'd kill him with my bible, and my razor and my gun....
GOD DAMN! The pusher
God damn the pusher.
I said God damn! God damn the pusher man!

You can imagine whatever you want, phil-the-pill: it still doesn't alter the fact that you have not only made a twat of yourself with your argument, but have consistently failed to defend it.

And your comments about racism could not be taken seriously by anybody. Like I said, if you aren't merely trying to take the piss, you are among the best friends the BNP could possibly have. If they didn't have people like you to rail against, they'd have to cultivate you.

Why bother, when you do it so well yourself?

LLETSA said:
The trouble with Manchester's estates is that the residents lack the ambition to model themselves on Manhatten's lower east side.

I rest my case.

You rest your case on what? That I took the piss out of your ridiculous panacea for the drug problems in places like Manchester?
