How do you know what's a good pillow?

I would think those would be lower end pillows. Buy the nicer ones, they last longer and much more comfortable, especially the down-filled ones :)

They have some goose feather and down ones that are £30 reduced to £15 each. Are you saying they're lower end as well? :(

You don't know until you've slept on them for a month....

I have a tempur mattress and bought the pillows they had out at the time, which were the the neck support shaped ones. I dispensed with the pillows eventually. I gave one to a flatmate who liked it and the other, i'm not sure where it is. around somewhere.

I would be willing to give the pillow-shaped ones ago if I hadn't already spent that sort of money on the others.

I wouldn't recommend the moulded ones if you like to sleep on your side or have your arm underneath. Though I think they've brought out deeper shaped ones...

Mines one of the weirdo shaped ones. It's incredibly comfy when I sleep on my side - fits into the little nook of my neck dead good like.

If you go to a place that actually has them on beds, at least you'll be able to lie there for 10 minutes and see how your head and neck rests. It's not the same as getting a full night's sleep with them, but still, as good as your gonna get.

Unless you buy a tempur mattress, then they let you have 2 pillows on trial for free :p

I did. The pillows at the time were too shallow for me when I slept on my side, which I normally do,I conceded much later than a month. they've brought in new designs since then.

TBH if I was choosing again I'd buy a high spec Hypnos mattress instead of tempur. Not much less expensive, but more luxurious feeling. I had the best sleep ever on one of those. :)

I had the original memory foam pillows. If I still had them i'd give you them.

I can't see from this pic whether it is the original smaller one. They seemed start making bigger ones than mine, but the same shape. I think.

I would recommend you get the memory foam pillow shaped pillows (even though I haven't tried them) instead. I gave up on my ones because they fitted nicely if I was sleeping on my back but, like you, I tend to sleep on my side, and sometimes tuck my arm under the pillow too. I found mine too thin to gve the support I would like. Also they were not as long as normal pillows so they did not nearly cover the width of the bed. which seemed an odd thing to do.

If you can't afford the pillow shaped memory foam ones, and they are bloody expensive after all then it's back to trial and error and make a note of what you do buy in case they are good so you can get them again.

I'm totally stuck what to get myself from b/f for Christmas and as there's absolutely no way I'd spend £70 on a pillow, I'm thinking I'll get it for me for Christmas.

Strange Christmas present but I don't really want anything :D
