If there is something planned then it will have to be coming from elsewhere. All Hamas have are their fireworks. The only possible thing I can think of is something from Hezbollah and I don't think they have the capacity to shoot down a plane. It's that or some sort of attack on an airport from militants already inside Israel. I'm not sure Hamas would risk becoming further isolated though by carrying out such an attack though.

I think Hamas may have misunderstood the machinations behind the US Federal Aviation Administration's July 22 dictum. That looked to me like a rather subtle way of applying pressure on the State of Israel. I think that, if anything, a statement from Hamas reduces the chances of it happening it again. (I can't rule out there being some other background to the FAA decision.)

Going back to the negotiating table would probably cause the most real damage to the Israelis, or rather to the current Israeli government. I'm not convinced it'll get worse. There's nowhere Israel can really escalate to, short of "scorched earth" (in the old sense of "kill everyone and ruin the land too") short of a tactical nuke, and they want the land for themselves too much to turn Gaza into radioactive glass.
