Just putting this here

Ireland’s largest grocery and food retailer distributor SuperValu instructed all of its 232 stores to remove Israeli products from the shelves earlier this month.
In an email to store managers, the chain called on store managers to “remove all stock from available sale and dispose of [it] at store level.”
“It’s mostly fruit and vegetables, carrots and herbs more specifically,” a source from the retailer told the Irish Herald.

Ilan Pappe writes on the nationalist's demand for more IDF sperm. He nails it with this paragraph.
To be honest, these soldiers did not do too well in the battlefield. Conventional armies are inept when it comes to battling face-to-face with desperate guerrillas dug deep in tunnels and bunkers. Possibly the HAMAS DNA would have been a bit more fitting for this purpose, if one wishes to take ad absurdum this Israeli Jewish obsession with human engineering.

Maybe this should be in the Hasbara thread: but anyway -

Guardian Readers's Editor half-heartedly opposes that bloody advert:

I think the Guardian should have rejected the language of the advertisement and attempted to negotiate change with the authors, something they indicated to the Times that they might consider.

Not reading the Guardian, but found that in the Press Gazette coverage, with this on the other side of advertising:

It appeared extraordinary that readers of the Jewish Chronicle were so upset about an advert for a humanitarian appeal which has appeared in most national newspapers.

There was some talk of another flotilla trying to break the gaza blockade - is this still happening? And what do people think Israel's response will be this time?

Yes, from Turkey I believe. I dare say the Israeli response will be the same as last time.

-Major global boycott campaigns
-People who were indifferent to the suffering of the Palestinian people are now paying attention to what is happening and asking why
-Zionist entity's inability to impose itself on the Ghazzans
-Rise of fascist far right in the zionist entity likely to drag the zionist entity to even uglier depths
-Inability to control media narrative, even with its hasbara drones/zombies such as regevbot working at maximum capacity

I hope that we are at a tipping point.

i hope it tips the right way

Would they dare pull that shit again? Im sure mossad will be all out to sabotage the ships before they sail - but storming on board and killing people? The shit storm would be massively more intense than last time.
I doubt they will want exactly the same events as last time, but I do expect they won't let the ships dock.

WE BLOCKED THE BOAT!!

On August 17th, 2014 Palestine was once again victorious in Oakland, California!

For the second day in a row the Bay Area community held off the Israeli Zim ship from unloading at the Port. Thousands of people rallied on Saturday and successfully kept the ship at Bay on its regular scheduled day. Today we got word that the ship had arrived and workers were being called to unload it. Within 30 minutes we mobilized over 400 people back to the Port. And we won!

Workers honored our picket and stood on the side of justice, as they historically have. Oakland said no to Zionism and blocked the boat for an entire weekend. This is the first time in history that this has happened. Israeli apartheid is falling one port at a time!

Palestine will be free from the river to the sea. Long live international solidarity and the struggle for liberation!

August 16, 2014

Let the world register that on 16, August 2014, five thousand people in Oakland prevented the apartheid Zim liner for the second time from docking and unloading anywhere on the West Coast....

The Turkish state is considering sending a military escort - Erdogan mentioned it last week, I believe. I suspect the IDF will be less likely to try to drop commandoes from helicopters if there's a chance of a heavy machine gun opening up on the choppers and/or anyone abseiling down from one.

In terms of realpolitik, if the flotilla has a Turkish military escort, then the IDF may have no choice, unless they want to fire on a whole flotilla of merchant vessels, and the state of Israel doesn't need to be pissing Turkey off, at the moment.

may not need to be but they've pissed off so much of the world one more country won't make much difference

Well, it's a country that currently does a fair bit for Israel, in terms of helping stem the flow of weapons and intelligence, so they may be loath to sacrifice that.
Then again, the state of Israel has shown a remarkable willingness to pump its own feet full of bullets in the past, so...

War criminal Netenyahu has ordered a resumption of strikes, following 3 rockets allegedly launched by Hamas landing in Israel. Can't find a link yet.

Holy mother of fuck when will it end

@iHaZeMi #Hamas: we have no information about firing rockets from #Gaza & the Israeli strikes to ruin the truce talks in #Cairo.

@Belalmd12 Let's keep things in perspective. Israel withdrew from Cairo talks, Israel is using extensive force against Gaza again; Israel wants this. Reminiscence of Rafah on August 1st, Israeli media now reports that alarm sirens were activated by mistake.

All a ploy? No resistance rockets fired? Alarm set off by mistake? No Iron Dome interceptions?
