I don't see much distinction between this "freeman" stuff and the anti-vaccination protests, at which there were people calling for medical staff to be executed. I saw video of some Covid conpiralooncs "serving a notice" on a hospital, which I think was also in Essex. The main person in these case was calling for the execution of the coroner.

I think there is a distinction, but in the Venn diagram of conspiraloonery, there's a pretty big overlap between the vaccine denialists and all the fotl bollocks.

yes you're right, I think the fact that strains of freemanism were already bubbling around helped covid conspiracy take off. There was a big public meeting locally held by some freeman-on-the-land type a couple of years before covid that got a lot of traction - held in a local left-leaning club too, people just being unaware at the time of how toxic this stuff is. And plenty of the same people who were sucked into that went down the covid conspiracy route, some of them now extremely right wing all over social media.

As it has been said aplenty in this thread already, whereas many of the people sucked into this lunacy by conmen like the one in this case are victims of a sort in one respect, every last one of them got swindled out of their own desire to cheat system to get out of paying taxes, child maintenance, car insurance and various other such things, if not seek to achieve a de facto immunity from prosecution for any criminal acts they might commit in the future. So fuck them, every bit as much as the predatory scammer they allowed to be brainwashed by for self-gain.

Sorry to bring emotions into it but dealing with these people was like having your soul sucked out. Yes, of course it's frustrating and a little bit kooky but it goes way deeper than that. Like they're a shell of a human with a vacuum inside. So while they're not paying taxes and yes I get that, something's happened to them and I don't know whether they'll ever be the same again. They're like haunted people, like they're forever changed.

Heard a story from a lawyer today who said a friend with blonde hair had been prosecuting a Sov Citizen recently, where the judge was also a blonde woman. Anyway, the defendent misheard the lawyer addressing the judge as "ma'am" as "mum" and was not able to be convinced that the two were not mother and daughter. Which of course just added to their already high paranoia
