I'm pretty certain that Richard X, who was behind quite a few of the worthwhile mash-ups, did the Newman/Adina Howard thing online, and then tried to get it released as part of an official mixtape commercially. Then Adina Howard blocked it's release, so he himself took it to Sugababes and rerecorded it.

That's how I remember it anyway.

Glad this thread exists as I now don't have to hide my guilty pleasure Sugababes playlist (which consists of this, Overload, and About You Now) .

I've heard 'Crazy In Love' a thousand times and I still don't know what the words in the chorus are supposed to be.

I also don't think it's a very good song at all. Umbrella is much better.
