Football and coronavirus

At least Mr. QofG's will save a fiver a week from not having a Super Six football bet every Saturday (which he never, ever wins on) :D

Which clubs are going to fold as a result of lack of revenue during the virus period?

It is going to be difficult for sure. Football clubs are companies now and a lot of them (top to bottom) are living hand to mouth. Reliant on TV monies plus sponsors, and to a lesser degree gate revenue.

nope . Wrestling . It replaced horse racing as the biggest Sat afternoon sport and thrust the likes of Mick McManus into being national heroes . All because of the big freeze on 1962 .
Wrestling had been shown on ITV on Saturday afternoons since 1955, so imagine it was reasonably popular before 1962.

For most League 1 and 2 clubs, gate revenue is hugely more important, because TV money is inevitably a great deal less than if you're higher up. And sponsorship of shirts etc will generally be much more low-level and locally sourced.

Oxford (League 1, currently third ;) :) ) will probably be alright -- they're not the poorest, and received some phat money from the televised Newcastle FA Cup game. But I can see (even) smaller clubs at our level suffering significantly :(

Sensible decision even if the National League are still faffing about like twats

they've finally caught up

Looks like the top two in the Championship will go up, with no relegations from the PL. So 22 teams in the premier league next year, with five of them to be relegated. Gutted for Forest who were well on track to make the playoffs for the first time in ages.

Non-league club Barnet FC are set to make 60 non-playing employees redundant in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic.

:(

are clubs still training? or has everyone been told to work at home (i.e fifa for the players FM2020 for managers).

yep but type and schedules vary . Some are doing limited training at training grounds, in Portugal its individual fitness sessions at home.
