Films ruined by child characters

Dakota Fanning was excellent and acted exactly how an 8 year old girl would act when the world goes to shit around her: terrified. It made the horror of the situation real.

I found her non-stop screaming extremely annoying. I almost ended up siding with the Martians.

Yes, it's always a bit shit when characters act like they would in situations of extreme danger, instead of spouting cool wisecracks and kicking alien butt. I actually just re-watched the film and she screams a few times at moments of extreme danger. For most of the films she doesn't. Stick to Independence Day.
