But seriously. There is one post in this whole thread where I misused the word "baseless", otherwise all I have ever said is that none of us were there and it was a second hand allegation. And whatever was said in whatever context, if the grosvenor is now happy for them not just to play there but to host a night there then.... draw your own conclusions.

What I don't get is why rutabowa and editor don't seem fussed about finding out which of the above 2 things happened (or if anything happened). They both seem to have access to the band, why can't someone just ask the FW bloke?
You want my conclusions? Well we already know that no abuse was directed at a specific person (@ tallulahj confirmed that). My conclusion is that he was barred for acting like a nob, and not for being racist; as he would not be playing there again otherwise, plus it would contradict my own personal experiences of the guy. maybe he said that racist word in the context of telling a story or something like "...yeh there was this redneck guy, the type who says stuff like xxxxxx" (because really the sentence was so ridiculous it could only possibly fit in a context like that), or something. Who knows. But if he has been unbarred etc then I'm happy to trust the grosvenors opinion.... as that is actually where it took place, and the pub is particularly noted for not tolerating racism.

Two seperate issues as it was in response to comments about the band's music and not the 'other' issue.
There are two strands of debate going on in this thread.
1) This band are genius/derivative posers
2) This band are badly behaved cunts and Racists/This band are badly behaved cunts and not racist
On issued 2, they sound like cunts, and one of them sounds like a racist cunt....or at least a xenophobic cunt.
On issue 1, they don't sound especially groundbreaking, but look like they might be quite exciting live.

the only time they have been approached directly to answer the - very specific - charge (once through their manager on here, once through facebook), the response was pretty much what you'd expect from a politician on newsnight. avoidance, and beligerance.

Must say, regardless of the details of this particular case I'm finding it pretty disturbing that a number of urban75 posters seem to think a mixture of the following:
A) people who seem nice to me can't possibly say racist things
B) people with left-wing/antifa politics can't possibly say racist things
C) a racist is something you are or aren't, rather than things you do.
