What you perceive as Hamilton moving towards Max can equally be Verstappen turning in across Lewis’s path. They were both turning through a right hand bend and it’s not necessarily the case that Lewis had the option of turning right faster than he did, as it’s to be expected that he’s at the limit of the grip the tyres will offer at that speed.

Nevertheless that is no doubt one of the things the stewards will be looking at, and as their decisions seem heavily influenced by the outcome of incidents more than just what each driver did, I would anticipate Lewis will prob get a 10 sec stop go penalty, which will screw his race if it’s to be served shortly after the restart.

Most of the commentators and at least one Team Principal thought is was a racing incident.

In the event, the stewards put their very starchiest nanny-aprons on, and decided to wag a finger at those naughty, noisy boys.

Accordingly, they found against Hammy, but only imposed the second mildest punishment.

So not close to a race ban. Or a public hanging, which is what Marko probably wants.
