F1 2021

The Brazilian media are reporting that Red Bull, Ferrari and AlphaTauri have voted against sporting penalties for breaches of the budget cap rules. 7 teams have agreed that a breach could be dealt with by a deduction of points, race disqualification or season disqualifaction. It seems these 3 teams only want fines for breaches of the rules. It could be interesting to see how this plays out.

Sporting penalties would (or at least could) hurt drivers, but budget capping is a long way beyond their influence and control.

Boo, I say.
Yes I think maybe points from the constructors but as you say race disqualification would mess with the drivers championship, but over spend could make for a faster car. It a hard one, I need to think about it

My recent convert to F1 wife, "Who do you want to win today? I want anyone but him. Bottas, Max, anyone else."

I don't think she's a Hamilton fan.
