Eurovision 2023 - Liverpool

Hotel prices went nuts as soon as it was announced. I really thought they'd bundle tickets with accommodation somehow.
No way. They would require quite an effort with many different providers. Besides there will be "representatives" from dozens of different countries and staff wanting rooms. I've had a quote of £350 per room, per night, provided I book 2 nights. I shall suggest to Mrs tag she looks for somewhere about half an hour or so away by train.

Tent. :hmm:

ooh, Ticketmaster has just this minute sent me an invitation to apply for tickets! And I thought they'd all gone.....

To the Alps for this update.

First of all, who wants to ask very important questions about the music industry through the medium of a novelty song somewhere between Daphne and Celeste, and Wet Leg? Prepare yourself.

Somewhat tone-deaf to be singing about guns, tanks, and bodybags at a time when Ukraine is at war, though Switzerland will claim it's all about that country's military service. A strange, clunky song choice.

Im told their are still tickets available. For a box costing thousands.
I got through the queue and there were £500 ones left for the Friday night. I love my wife and her daughters but...

I'm going to book them in a nice hotel so they can watch it together. See what I did there ;)

You clearly don't love you wife as much as I love mine.
This hotel, somewhere down near Rhyl perhaps. 😂

But if you really loved her, you would have got tickets. For the final. You just don't care, do you.
I'll be having the lads round for a vinyl night and a curry. I've told her she can stay in with us for her birthday treat. That's really ❤️
She has said instead of ordering the curry I can cook off.

Enjoy. I shall be working as usual. Late shifts for me, so I won't even see it on the box. Gutted. 😄

Stick with that, it's costing two arms and two legs. The tickets were not cheap, accomodation through the roof, transport, special sparkly clothes, flags to wave. I imagine there will be a programme. She is now talking about an official tee shirt. What's next 😱

I can offer accommodation with a direct 30 minute link to Liverpool by train. How much do you love your wife?

divorce?

I was thinking of the Runcorn travelodge. Quite close to the action. Central location for the three of them.
My partner and I have a ticket for one of the mid-week club nights. The cheapest hotel I could find was in West Derby (in the outskirts, not the West of the city of Derby, obviously).

That's dancing round your handbags West Derby. There's a Greggs and a drive by Starbucks. How much are you going to pay for a minder?

:D

Singing in front of a home audience for the first time since Imaani in Birmingham 1998, it's......

"I Wrote a Song"

Just listened to that, it's shit, very juvenile primary school poetry level rhyming with the lyrics and it sounds very auto-tuney. Nul points from me.

Yes , she's won once before.
Yes, this looks and sounds like a winning song again.
Yes, it's a bit deflating to imagine that tonight Sweden has chosen the winning entry and we have nothing much to surprise us on the night.

But hey.

Here's, almost certainly, this year's winning song.
