I wasn't going to vote but Zachor's opposition to the Greens has convinced me they're worth voting for so I'll be there on polling day and I'm gonna convince as many others as I can to do the same.

And who would these 'unfortunately mentalist fellow travellers' be, exactly?

and he seems to have forgotten about the 'mentalists' (Derren Brown??) who hang around the tory party, them who used to wear 'Hang Nelson Mandela' t-shirts and the like

I like the poll as put up, being anonymous means I can vote green but nobody will know. Ha!

Why would that bother Zachor, apartheid South Africa and Israel had a very strong economic relationship.

I would never have voted for the Tories of the past. The did have some extremely dodgy support as you've mentioned above. However, I think they have changed sufficiently to warrant serious consideration as a repositiory for votes. The Tories now seem to be much more electable than ever they were in the past.

Slightly off topic I've been quite impressed so far with the new Right Not Racist online group which seeks to reclaim anti racist campaigning from the clutches of the far left. http://rightnotracist.org/ There are many people like me who are anti racist but believe that the left led agenda and left domination of anti racist groups puts off whole swaithes of reasonable people who hate discrimination but don't want to sign up to political agendas which offend their concsiences.

Just because I'm a Zionist doesn't mean I don't criticise Israel when necessary. The ties with pre democratic South Africa was an unfortunate stain on Israel's history.

You mean yet another racist stain on Israels history.

Real Socialism

I'm thinking of voting for the Socialist Party (SPGB) as I went to one of their meetings and came away very impressed with this party as they want to get rid of the profit system and establish real 'Socialism' not a programme of patching up capitalism.

Re Greens.

If I was living in Israel then I would probably vote for their Greens as I've been really impressed by what they've managed to do for the local environment and also it seems to be one of the few Green parties that don't have the seemingly obligatory completment of anti Israeli / anti semitic loons.

What about the refusals of the Palestinians to engage with the peace process on more than one occasion, the multipicity of attacks by non democratic Arab nations on Israel etc etc. There are racists in the region sure but the majority of them are not Israeli. You don't hear of many Israelis who want to wipe Jordan or Egypt off of the map but you hear an awful lot of Arab leaders and commentators wanting the same to happen to Israel.

You are entertaining Fedayn but you don't know what the fuck you are talking about sadly.

if the socialist party are putting up a candidate i'd vote for them. i've been really impressed by their stance on the strikes as well as on palestine etc and i'm seriously considering joining them tbh.

Refusing to engage with a bully doesn't make anyone racist is it now?! Yet again you are incapable of making a coherent and logical point.
Now, given i'm not supporting or defending ANY Arab regimes in the area what's your point? Not that you have one.
Stick to cheerleading child killers, it's frankly all you're good at, well apart from scabbing on your workmates.

Won't be voting.

I'd vote Green. But sadly, cannot figure out how the hell to get a vote from abroad not having been on the electoral roll for a decade. The Govt websites have been no help unfortunately. So, I'll be be joining the disenfranchised majority once again.
In Euro elections you vote in whichever country you are resident, so if you live in Italy (I vaguely remember you saying you live there?) you should vote there.

According to information supplied by the Italian Ministry of the Interior, Direzione Centrale per i Servizi Elettorali, a British citizen resident in Italy needs to be a registered resident in their local comune to be able to vote in European and local elections.

Once the person has applied for residence, he or she should ask to have his or her name added to the 'elenco elettorale aggiunto'. He or she will need to have an identity document, and will be issued with a 'tessera elettorale'.

Further information can be found (in Italian) on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.

@ Zachor & Fedayn...

...any chance you could take this argument to the middle east forum and let this thread get back to discussing the european elections? Thanks. ;)

OK I'll withdraw from disussing the ME on this one.

Back to topic

I understand that there is a new party Libertas going to be standing which is mostly concerned with democratising the EU. They might be worth looking at if they are not loons that is.

Hmm. I'm not convinced that this poll is representative of the wider British public.
