i was under the impression that since the mid nineties only scarfers went to england games. anyone associated to hooliganism has to register at OB stations just before the game during these tournements. I doubt there's any there that are to face up the russians

England were ok, but Russia really didn't turn up, first half they were much worse and England should have had the game won before half time. That Russian goal was awful as well from our perspective, after completely outplaying them for most of the game and then finish on equal terms because they have a basketball player, now we have to win against Wales, who were much better than Russia today

Skyfallsz has it right. Wales were mostly great against an admittedly weak Slovakia, but Russia weren't even there against England for most of the game (especially first half), and England were vastly better for almost all of it.

I thought Wales were far better than Slovakia overall, but I take some of that point.
And yes, Russia were well short of any clue or idea mostly. I hope any sensible Russians accept that they were very lucky.

But Wales weathered something of a storm at 1 all and rode their luck as well, after Slovakia scored a very good goal. Teams are scared of Bale. That's Wales's biggest thing - first half, Slovakia were too conservative and paid for it.

Mardy bum got shirty about one of the resident Cymru folk taking the piss at the result. Since then it's had a bee in it's precious bonnet.There are plenty of hooligans in this country who are not subject to banning orders. There's been a steady rise of dissaffected youth finding that special place to belong to again in the last 10 years. The rise of firms in lower league clubs being a good example. Look at what's been going on in the CL and the Europa League in the last few years. It has steadily been on the increase and there are supporters of all Nationalities still using big tornos as bragging/battling grounds. The Welsh and Scottish anthems are genuine and often moving expressions of nationhood and unity. GSTQ is a dirge about a monarch. It's shite and I never understand why England fans sign it over and over rather than once at the start cos they have to. I'm an England fan btw, albeit one living in Wales.
