England v Algeria

For now. You just wait for Ramsey to get a bit older, mind.

if there's one thing the england team of the past 10 years has taught us it's that gifted players do not necessarily make a good team.

oh, and that players in the PL are a bit overhyped.

That's 2 things.

Your first point is incorrect. Gifted players do make good teams. You have simply lacked enough gifted players. Bob on with your second point though.

well, that was my point.

Ramsay, even if he's as good as maradona, isn't going to make wales good on his own. ;)

England are making Algeria look like a competent football team, which is a damning indictment of how shit they have been.

USA and Algeria may not be the best teams in the world but they both have pace out wide and it seems to unsettle England!

He doesn't need to make us good, just marginally more fluid so that we, too, can embarrass England.

He's no Maradona but reckon in a few years he'll be a top player, and a creative attacking midfielder to boot so we can build a team around him.

I still think we missed a trick by not scanning Argentina for a few uncapped players with Welsh grandparents a few decades back. They'll all be too old now, so unless the rules get changed to great grand-parents then its a missed opportunity. Boo.

Just tragic; no shape, no balance and it’s pretty much all down to Gerrard deciding he’s going to duplicate roles elsewhere than where he’s put. They’re on top of each other, they don’t know which of them is making runs and which isn’t, what to do about leaving huge gaps, how to not stand on each others feet. Everyone's natural positional instinct is shredded.

Just get him the fuck off the pitch and put someone on who won’t hijack shape and balance and any purpose.

They started to look a bit better towards the end even if no end result. Passing it around a bit. Algeria had hardly any possession so not all bad news.

Just need to pick up the pace a bit and get the ball into the box
