Driving Standards

Some time ago I did yell at a driver that he'd kill someone if he carried on like that, and he completely took the wind out of my sails by agreeing that he was well out of order.

The worst kind of scumbag

I recently had a note placed on my windscreen regarding my parking, it was polite, non-judgmental and what they were requesting was entirely reasonable with not even a hint of passive-aggressiveness. Was fucking livid!

The Pagani Zonda that was made for Lewis Hamilton, which he sold for £8.5m last year has been smashed to shit in a tunnel on the A55 in north Wales. Footage grabbed by the Mail shows the driver flooring it as it enters the tunnel, presumably to hear the sound echoing, then immediately smashing it in to the side wall, spinning around and hitting the other one.

Cars are for driving and accidents happen.

Just been behind a Wolverhampton plated one in Liverpool too. I've seen a few recently. Used to be your taxi license only allowed you to operate in the authority that awarded it.
Hackneys can only ply in their licenced area

PHVs can be booked from anywhere ot anywhere , and there is a loophole with that that the wolves plated cars use

if PHVs were licenced ona county / metropolitan countty basis and had to stick to it it might be better ,

New guidance for Scotland for harsher sentences for drivers that kill pedestrians, cyclists, or motorcyclists, as judges will be allowed (directed?) to take into account the vulnerability of the victim.

This is good and I hope something similar happens for England & Wales (or there's a complete overhaul of the driving offences)

Saw a bloke texting and driving with his knees in a retail park earlier today. He then stopped just before the car park exit and finished his text, engine still running

Was very tempted to knock on his window to tell him not to text and drive.
I suspect the rules don’t apply in a retail park, it’s not usually a public road. Not that it makes a difference morally.

I can remember a particular bit of stupidity in my youth where one friend was sat on the headrest with most of his body out the sunroof steering with his feet, while another friend in the passenger seat leant over and did the pedals with his hands. Known as playing ‘tank commander’. Usually only the front passenger got to poke out of the roof in this game. Fucking idiots, today‘s teenagers are probably much better behaved.

All rules apply on private land that the public have access to, so you can’t drink drive in Sainsbury’s car park, for example.

Got back to my car with my shopping to find that someone had parked on my right, so close as to only leave perhaps six inches between the cars.

We had both driven into the parking bays so they wouldn't have been restricted getting out of their car and they can't have thought about me one iota.

I put my shopping in the boot and then got in the passenger side and worked my way over the gear lever into the driving seat.

If I had been thinking I could have left them a passive aggressive note or at least taken a photo, but I just went on my way.

:( :)
