Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Context matters here, while in theory the end of the US as a world leader sounds positive, like this? In the world as it currently is?

It isn't anyway, it still has the worlds strongest military and the 2nd largest nuclear arsenal in world.

It's just not a grown up anymore.

It's like replacing a stern abusive disciplinarian of a father figure with some erratic drug addict who promisee you a new toy but instead ends up chucking a brick at your head and leaving you abandoned somewhere, then panics and comes back later drags youu home and starts forcefeeding you spaghetti hoops until you are sick.

I feel this analogy got away from me at some point.

I think it’s pretty spot on tbh.

WaPo has a long article on the transition. Of course he's doing things his own way, ignoring FBI vetting and all official channels, including funding, so he can escape scrutiny. One of his backers describes it as 'a hostile takeover on behalf of the American people':
“The American people rendered their verdict by putting him back in the White House,” said Mike Davis, president of the Article III Project, a nonprofit group that has defended Trump against the criminal charges brought against him. “He should not trust the politicized and weaponized intelligence and law enforcement agencies that hobbled his presidency the first time. It’s a hostile takeover on behalf of the American people.”

“The Trump team is attempting to convert the government into an instrument of his private agenda,” said Max Stier, president and chief executive officer of the nonpartisan, nonprofit Partnership for Public Service. Instead, Stier said, “We’re seeing a push to revert to the spoils system,” a reference to the 19th-century practice of rewarding supporters with government jobs without vetting and often not based on merit.

[Senator Van Hollen (D-Maryland)] said. “We have tools in the confirmation process to make sure nominees get vetted. What he’s asking Republicans to do is make him king.”
Long article, worth a look

and paywall busted, in case:

They've split but have yet to divorce.
I don't follow wrestling so I had no idea who McMahon was beyond knowing the name and having a vague sense he was a shithead. I've just started listening to the Behind the Bastards 4 part-er on him, in which the first episode just covers the history of pro wrestling in the USA. It's a parade of monsters as you might expect, but they keep saying McMahon is leagues ahead of these guys. When you know what's coming, from a quick glance at his wiki page, you almost feel like you shouldn't listen. The BTB presenters to a good job in pulling the story together for these scumbags, but it's a bit 'bro-ish'. But yeah, that's by the by, a fucking vile human being who embodies just about everything that follows from power and exploitation.

Vince McMahon has made some very questionable calls, to say the least, in the way he has run WWE!

The projection from the maga loons is beyond the scale. Just think this dipshit is next in line of the dynasty. I wonder what post he will get, presumably something as outrageously inappropriate as all of the others? Probably with RFK Jr in the drugs arena.

Oh and Empty Greene has now been given a post with Musk and Vivek. The outrageously stupid creature will be even more unbearable now, if that's possible.

Damn it :(

was Refreshing to here the truth from MTG for a moment. the republican party is the party of ultimate projection

Hasn't he resigned from Congress too? So, expect to see him as a talking (butt)head on right-wing channels. It seems his aim all along was just fame, or infamy. I'm sure Newsmax, RSBN or OAN will snap him up. Maybe Faux will now Fucker is no longer there. He dropped him in it over the allegations by claiming Fucker went to dinner with him and the victim. The constipated shitgibbon look from Fucker was replaced for a second by an attempt at amnesia. There was talk that Butthead would never be invited on there again, but things change. I just hope CNN or MSNBC don't go down the road of hiring him as a pundit, now they have bent the knee to the Dumpster.

It's a hopeful sign in some senses that someone can actually be beyond the pale with these people, but presumably only because there was the risk of releasing a shit tonne of very incriminating stuff about him.

Aye, I'm sure McMahon isn't unique I'm his vileness, but few like him have had so much unilateral power in a company or industry as he did.
