Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Fair play to the Telegraph for calling this what it is - a bribe

"Amazon has paid $40 million for a documentary of Melania Trump’s life story in Jeff Bezos’s latest attempt to ingratiate himself with the president-elect..."

described elsewhere, possibly correctly, as the biggest value media deal in human history - massively over the odds
“I was born… I took my clothes off for money… I married a thick, orange blob… I had to arrange Christmas trees in a big white building… I went to Florida… THE END”

And...? I mean saying stuff and then u-turning, backtracking etc etc isn't exactly unknown where Trump's concerned. And he doesn't seem to give a fuck so... So what?
So I want to hear what he's saying. We all know he lies, so we just ignore him? He is being fact checked now, which is something that should have been happening a long time ago. Perhaps this time he will be held to account more? Anyway, why are some posters so hung up on those of us watching? We're not in the dictatorship yet, where we aren't allowed to do what we want.

Watch away of course if you want to. Hopefully we can have another thread where we can actually talk politics though.

During the world's Most Expensive Pantomine when Penny Mordaunt was lugging that big pointy thing around, Mrs Q and Youngest were going gaga over Mordaunt's dress sense, I'm sure my wife will have something to say about Melania's as well.
It’s the only real point of interest in the whole day… and yet she still blew it by looking like she was heading to a funeral, instead of knocking everyone’s socks off in a devastatingly stylish outfit.

Still, I can’t blame her if she’s depressed…

Maybe it was wishful thinking on her part :). An accurate sniper, and then to paraphrase Hamlet, the buffet would cover a wake rather than a celebration. (Of course it could be both in her case :)).

Today is Martin Luther King Day and his honor — this will be a great honor — but in his honor, we will strive together to make his dream a reality. We will make his dream come true.

I'm guessing this isn't the dream he was referring to:

So today capitalism has outlived its usefulness. It has brought about a system that takes necessities from the masses to give luxuries to the classes. . . . Our economic system is going through a radical change, and certainly this change is needed. I would certainly welcome the day to come when there will be a nationalization of industry. Let us continue to hope, work, and pray that in the future we will live to see a warless world, a better distribution of wealth, and a brotherhood that transcends race or color. This is the gospel that I will preach to the world.

I don't think more stuff from Randy Rainbow is really going to do it.

Cheers - Louis MacNeice
I know, but I've seen so many people say he got them through the last time, and I can always appreciate the creativity and cleverness. Skewering the bastard brilliantly in a song may not stop him, but it gives succour to those knowing they're not alone.

I just came here to say that the role of First Lady is not a job, it's a fucking weird throwback. If my husband's out with work, I like to wear my worst dressing gown and watch old episodes of the Sewing Bee while eating Bombay mix. Ask youself what Kamala's husband would be doing. Who? Well quite.

that piece of shit article Spy explicitly recommended said:
“Women deserve protections, they deserve dignity, they deserve fairness, they deserve safety,” said a senior policy adviser explaining why the order explicitly embraces the necessity of special treatment for women.
Are we genuinely being asked to believe that Trump is going to deliver fairness and safety for women? Fucking seriously?
