But... there are some powerful insights that have been brought to the thread. In the last few pages, my preconceptions have been totally challenged by the introduction of new ways of looking at his behaviour and personality. For example, one idea is that he may be vain. Another is that he often tells lies. Some of these thoughts I have found truly revelatory.

In short then… You don’t like reading criticism of anything about him - so much so, that you’ve disregarded anything else that’s been said that’s critical of him and choose to dwell solely on the bits you don’t like. Well that’s just tough.

I have criticised more or less everything about Trump, since the day he first poked his nose into the world of politics, so don’t presume to tell me or anyone else that we have “nothing to contribute”.

No, I can’t bear to watch Trump any longer. I had hoped after Biden took office that we would never have to put up with constantly seeing that stupid lump of flob and hear any more of that relentless, self-pitying whining … but sadly, the media insisted on giving it a platform.

Just a few seconds of footage is almost more than I can tolerate. He makes my very flesh crawl.

It was a bit of a reluctant drudge for me but I couldn't resist the opportunity to see the man in that context (extended interview). He knows how to win people over (i.e charm, charisma). It's astonishing though, how many people are willing to be sucked into Trump's world - presumably only for personal advantage or advancement. I mean, it wouldn't be in the expectation of lasting personal friendship or for any sort of collegiate or wider social benefit.

Hell, Trump even demonstrated that being required to shake his grubby little hand as a diplomatic necessity is a sodding power struggle so the idea of anyone doing so because they actually wanted to is hard to reconcile.
