Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

There are reports on the BBC news that some of the orange bastard's picks for government have had bomb scares at their homes. Those mentioned were Stefanik and Hegsgeth.

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

I wouldn't put it past the criminal crew to have done this themselves. The opposition are not the sort to resort to violence, whereas the Dumpty lot are hate-filled sociopaths, who have no scruples about inciting hatred.

Yeah, it does seem more like something Trump’s idiot Nazi followers would do tbh, these degenerate trash want their Reichstag fire moment.

From what I have read, most bomb threats, etc. seem to be coming from pro-Palestine supporters.

I'm not saying that it's impossible, I think that if you take the idea of an impending fascist government seriously then it'd be a bit daft to restrict yourself to petitions and writing to your local representative, but what have you read that makes you think that?

If that was directed to me...

Scott Turner, who Trump tapped to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development, said in a statement on X that his “home was targeted by a bomb threat” on Wednesday and Trump’s pick for Labor secretary, Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-Ore.), said on X that she received a “pipe bomb threat” on Tuesday night. Lee Zeldin, the president-elect’s pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, also said in a statement that he was the target of a “pipe bomb” threat with a “pro-Palestinian themed message."

She also said that she will put tariffs on US imports if Trump goes through with his promised 25% tariffs on Mexican goods. According to several articles, Mexico imports more US products than any other country.
It really is americanised (of course its mainly people with money who buy the imports... except Coke i guess, everyone drinks that)... if Mexico stopped importing US goods and kept its own avocadoes maybe everyone would live in peace and harmony

Thanks, although a link would've been nice. From this article it sounds like at least nine people are claiming to have received threats (Stefanik, Lutnick, Zeldin, Rollins, Turner, Chavez-Deremer, Gaetz, Radcliffe, Hegseth):

And there's only mention of a Palestinian-related message in connection to one of those, Zeldin. Assuming all that is accurate, it's possible that the other threats might be coming from the same people, but then they might not.

Maybe I'm geting too cynical, but I find it hard to believe a single word they say. I'm dubious there even are bomb threats, never mind who made them.

Keeps people away from polling stations.
👊

Exactly. Remind me again of those polling stations where this happened. I believe they were in Dem areas, and even if there was some opening time added because of the threat, who knows how many people were put off going? Thanks Daddy Vlad.

Incidentally, I keep seeing lots of comments from people whose votes did not count, for no legitimate reason. No one will convince me that the bastard won fair and square.

Speak to enough Americans and it becomes believable

...and we are back to the misrepresenting of the truth

“Just had a wonderful conversation with the new President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. She has agreed to stop Migration through Mexico, and into the United States, effectively closing our Southern Border,” he said in a post on Truth Social. “It was a very productive conversation!”

Shortly after Trump posted his version of the conversation, Claudia posted this

“In our conversation with President Trump, I explained to him the comprehensive strategy that Mexico has followed to address the migration phenomenon, respecting human rights,” she said on X. “We reiterate that Mexico’s position is not to close borders but instead build bridges between government and people.”

The latest QAnon Anonymous podcast is really a fascinating and terrible dive into how we can't really reason with the people who have wrenched all the gears of power.

It's a great synopsis by a Jewish journialist who examines the Christian nationialist movement for a living with significiant experience and feels like a summation of all what led up to and including Trump. It's not as bombastic as you'd normally get from a podcast like this, straightforward.

Cheers @BigMoaner btw, top content. I've been a lurker for an extremely long time and generally just post nice photos. This felt like a good summation of the absolute fucking shitshow we all face.

Spotify link

It's a long listen so it starts with the history of uninterested evangelicals, segregation, taxes, abortions, ultimate control

If you want to jump a shitload, go 16 mins on and after

Not sure if I can direct link Spotify stuff, if so sorry Ed/mods. Please nuke it from orbit

More on the Mexican tariffs spat

Now that Donald Trump has threatened huge tariffs on Mexico, some MAGA figures are suddenly consumed with a dark new fantasy about Trump inflicting all manner of punishment on that country. One top MAGA ally claims Mexico should prepare for a U.S. military invasion. Another says that if Mexico doesn’t do Trump’s bidding, “pain and suffering will ensue.” Trump’s propagandists are laying the groundwork to cast Mexico as a major scapegoat for U.S. social problems.

The story of this year on the border is that the traffic is down by 75 percent. Mexico is doing things like busing potential migrants from the north to the south, giving them the opportunity to apply for asylum in Mexico and filling up detention centers that they’re newly building.

I was down visiting shelters a couple of years ago. The shelters really would help migrants apply for asylum in Mexico, would help them navigate how you would come legally to the U.S. using the CBP One app, give them health and safety screenings because it’s a dangerous trip, all the different things. Now they’re building detention centers—they were building them when I was there—and now they’re filling them up. So Mexico is already doing a lot of what Trump wants them to do, and it was done by negotiation and by diplomacy rather than by tweet and belligerence.

Some good news on the horizon for the Dems? Maga may be about to lose the expected majority in the House.

I follow a lot of these broadcasters on YT which is where I get my latest info from, but if you don't like vids, search for a text version. Ben is a lawyer, and The Meidas Touch have nearly 4 million subscribers, so he is not just a nobody posting shit before anyone decides to take issue with him.
