Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

I think the fact that Trump voters were also far more likely to die from Covid than Democrats will not help his chances of reelection. Over a million died of Covid in the USA.

Republicans don't know those facts, and if they do, they blame it on being targeted by the Democrats. I talked to one neighbor a while back, before the death count was less than a million. He was downplaying how bad it was and he said "Well, how many people have died, really?" I checked the tracker on my phone. and it was over 900,000 (Last time I checked it was 1.2 million). I showed it to him, and his eyes bugged out. He'd never seen real numbers for the dead. Even now people are downplaying it. I was talking with people I went to high school with last night and one of the topics of conversation was how unnecessary the lockdown was (while discussing the long, drawn-out death of a classmate who had died of Covid). People in red states are remarkably sanguine about death.

what i'm saying is a significant proportion of the Covid Dead were trumpists and they won't be voting for him again like they did in 2016, or perhaps even in 2020, because they are now Covid Dead. not that the covid stuff will convince anyone to turn from trump. didn't mean that.

As far as I can tell, a lot of Trumpists now seem to believe in an alternate version of history where Evil Joe Biden imposed harsh lockdowns when the pandemic hit

Remember that a lot of the more extreme ones are well-in to the anti-rational/anti-science mindset and quite blind to any sort of real figures/stats. Although a significant subset seem happy to believe in the "many millions" killed by the vaccine/depop line, without any proof whatsoever.

It seems to me that Left vs Right is becoming less of a differentiation. It's becoming more people who belive in evidence-based analysis of events versus credulous belief in made-up facts that fit the narrative, and any actual analysis is seen as belonging to the outgroup.
So the 'Lefties' who actually have an understanding of the facts to varying degrees cannot understand how anyone can be so stupid as to believe such blatant falsehoods and even the evidence of their own eyes, while the Right type cannot believe anyone would fall for such conspiracies and anything the others believe in must be false and should be resisted up to the point of allowing them and their loved one die horribly unpleasant deaths

Yup - How long is it since the right used claim they were in full possession of all relevant facts and the analytical capabilities to make every decision and accuse anyone remotely left of them of existing in a fact-free fairyland..?

It's ironic when Trump bleats on about how the left are coming for him and it will be you next, when his Republican governors and lawmakers are doing their best to make life extremely worrying for LGBT communities, erasing black history and rights for women.

The right is fond of a book by left-winger, Saul Alinsky. His "Rules for Radicals" was a bestseller in far right circles a couple of years ago, while demonizing the book publicly. One of his principles is to "accuse the other side of that which you are guilty." I don't think he originated that idea, but he popularized it.

hmm don't think you should call him president unless he the incumbent

former president trump would be correct

any American around who can confirm the correct protocol :hmm:

political motived accusation and moan that
washington is not how he left it

what with a damage capitol building and few dead cops

:hmm:

The dead sheep has started to maul popping out of Murdoch's primary orifice to do so. Presumably, he thinks this is his only route to the Republican nomination.

Not mincing his words then.

For once we may have reason to be grateful for Pence's ridiculously upright/uptight brand of Christianity as I think that is why he didn't countenance supporting the fraud.

you don't need a million votes for an electoral college win... strategig diyng is where it's at

I tend to dip in and out of what Trump is up to next so not up to date. What are the chances or likelihood of the orange faced, double thundercunt being re-elected?

I’m not an American but I can confirm that it’s standard protocol for former presidents to be addressed as president, while they’re still alive I think. In this case it’s not a manifestation of the orange one’s outrageous ego. Though I’m sure it strokes it.

Yes. What’s he got against Sarah?
He has issues with Jewish women.
