Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Wilful ignorance. It reminds me of 1997 when I was 20 and chose to believe that Blair didn’t really mean what he was saying. Once in government he’d actually do more traditionally Labour things. It’s okay, honestly.

more.than that youngkin is a maga fuck wit with a bit of polish would not trust the prick in anything he said.. he is on board with the worse of the project 2025 shite

I think he was just being slippery and trying to dodge the question, he knows that whatever he says about Trump could come back to haunt him if he runs for president in 2028

Hopefully the evil bastard will be done for soon. Von Schitsinpants has cancelled some upcoming events, including with the NRA in Georgia. No reason has been forthcoming, but the speculation is that his campaign are hiding something, possibly his fast moving deterioration on the health front. After his explosive sharting on stage recently, it's a possibility that he is disintegrating fast. Of course, he can't keep his big, fat gob shut, so he has incriminated himself AGAIN, so I suspect that there is a lot more diaper filling going on at the moment. Oh dear, how sad, never mind. Maybe he's getting ready to flee the country, or to plead insanity. Come on Jack, finish the bastard off 😄.

Can't say I'm feeling remotely sanguine about his VP taking over if Trump is elected and then incapacitated. And I can envisage his enablers literally propping him up to ensure he lasts till the election.

The plan is to get Trump elected and then invoke the 25th amendment almost immediately so the Project 25 enabler and fanboy, Vance, can become President. Vance wouldn't stand a chance on his own but he will enable every bit of Project 25 and that's all that matters to the GOP right now. So it's "Weekend At Trumpy's" until after the inauguration

Agree. Thiel has his stooge in place with Shady. Interesting that the idiot sons persuaded the idiot dad to go for him, even after all the previous stuff he had said about Dumpty. No doubt there was a tsunami of flattery going on, with the pumpkin not having a clue that he should not be standing near any open windows or flights of stairs when Shady is around. That could be quicker than invoking the 25th.

so he was farting in Detroit and now because he is a shallow sad little man

he has a complex about it and has panic at the sight of a leather sofa :D

jesus whatever their are giving him to lose weight is killing the fella ...
if he was my granda i'd be checking he was eating every day and did not have cancer at this point :hmm:

The US has real Weimar Republic energy now. It’s worth underscoring how dramatic the stakes are here: it’s not only that the US is a split hair away from voting for a fascist that tried to overthrow democracy, but that he will have significantly more power the next time round. First, because he now controls the Republican Party apparatus, which was very fractured last time. Pence refused to go along with Trump’s coup attempt, Vance has said he’d back it. Second, because the US Supreme Court has ruled Trump has ‘absolute immunity’ for most of his official acts including all of those relating to the military and the department of justice, which he will be able use as weapons against his adversaries with impunity. It’s pretty terrifying.

Sadly, I have to agree with you. I'm saddened by the number of people who are openly embracing not only Fascism, but concentration camps, and genocide.

It speaks volumes (pun intended) how someone would deal with a situation like this.

Any normal person would take it in good humour, see it for the comedy potential it has, and probably make a political quip about fixing the state of things.

Not Trump. He’d rather look surly for 20 minutes and then the first thing to mind is to announce he’s not paying the equipment bill. What a knob.

I know you said you're trying to disconnect from the US election, but you also seem to be curious about Jan 6th, so I'm not sure if this is useful or interesting for you.

But anyway, for you or others who may want to see it:

YouTube has a Channel 4 doc that goes through it all. The Storming of USA's Capitol Hill: How it Happened

I can't link to it cos I'm abroad and the video isn't available in this country.

Many of them may not fully realise the parallels between the Weimar Republic and the things they are supporting.

Exactly as was said at the time: we must talk and learn and remember all of this so that we never repeat it in the future.

The woeful ignorance displayed by MAGA - and indeed Trump - is terrifying for many reasons and clearly demonstrates the truth and gravity of the injunction to remember.

We're still within living memory of the Shoah and already starting to forget.

Below is my own opinion and just an aside about how this thread reads to me.

There's plenty of ribaldry on this thread, and ridicule that (imo) would be better placed on the other thread.

And personally I find the discussions of his physicality e.g. his complexion slide into piss taking without looking at more serious considerations such how it may impacts on his fitness for office. The queries about incontinence may indicate problems but not necessarily. Skin colour even less.

And the insistence on schoolyard nicknames for Trump and the others is juvenile imo. Also, it's exactly what he does.

It may be "you laugh, you cry" coping as we slide ever closer to an extraordinary disaster.

I'm not laughing. I'm deeply concerned. It's not funny any more.

Some of the Trump supporters know exactly what they're invoking. I've seen some of them refer to "the Austrian Painter" instead of saying Hitler's name. Others don't because they really didn't pay attention in school because they were too busy bullying the other students. Some of them are looking for someone outside themself to give their life meaning. Being part of a movement to impose a Christian nation could give otherwise purposeless people some kind of attainable goal, that many people in the US seem to be lacking.

You're right.

As I've always said, the most dangerous fascists are those who know what they're talking about.
