Shitted. I watched the video. There are asterix mistakes, that's not one of them.

Harris favours live mics so as to be able to counter the unhinged, froth-specked bullshit that will come out of trump's mouth in real time, as opposed to having to wait until it's her time to speak (ie. so she doesn't have to waste valuable time getting her own message out). I hope she presses for this. Apparently it was the trump team who wanted the muted mics because they (rightly and sensibly) can't trust the big orange baby to go a whole 90mins without having a massive insult-spewing, foot-stamping, diaper-filling tantrum.

I read that as Harris favours live mice.

When Trump decided to desecrate Arlington Cemetery for his illegal photo-op on Tuesday assaulting (a female, naturally) cemetery official, he gave a cheery thumbs up over the grave of a dead soldier, just look at the hand signals of his of his entourage...

He's with his people. The two families involved seem to think them giving permission for trump and co to film and use this for campaign footage is all that counts. The cemetery laws prohibiting filming don't apply. Other families' feelings don't apply. They're his people. It is what it is.

Beware of putting too low expectations on Trump’s performance at the forthcoming debate, the same was done on the previous one with Biden and look how that went.

I don’t think his team minds people speculating on his capabilities because if he then goes ahead and exceeds people’s expectations then that probably counts as a win. Don’t anticipate a knockout blow, or some kind of meltdown, probably won’t happen, and even if it did, it’s unlikely that people in his bubble will see it because it will be filtered out by their social media circle and news sources.

A very sick man.

It's not
people in his bubble who will decide the election though.

I keep saying this, but I don't think they are. The red hats are not the sole or even majority GOP vote - obviously they are locked in, even if he sacrificed a child on a fucking Bible they'll vote for him. But they don't have more than one vote each. It'll be decided by the people who aren't sure if they can be bothered at all, the habitual GOP voters who don't really like Trump but can be made to feel that actually, he's a sufficiently bad idea that they'd either better not vote, or vote Dem; or the people who are not sure if they can be bothered to vote Dem but can be convinced that Trump is a worth voting against because he's an embarrassing liability.

Yep. Trump's 'base' is not big enough to win him the election on their own, particularly as Trump also energises an anti-Trump 'base'. So it's also about Democrat voters turning out in places like Georgia (and overcoming voter suppression in places like Georgia).

I'm not discounting a Trump win just yet, but I would say that, for him to win, everything needs to go right for him, including squeaking home in Georgia. And he can only win by a handful of electoral college votes while almost certainly receiving fewer votes than Harris overall. If the US had a simple one person one vote system, I'd be writing Trump's chances off already.

Trump’s team (including Musk) have said that they are going after people who don’t normally vote. This is the exact method used by the pro-Brexit campaign, which worked pretty well for them and confounded pollsters. I have a bad feeling that this might work.
