Its wierd that this contest is even remotely a contest - Trump - leaving aside ( ) the rape, racism, convictions, the fraud, the lies, the attemtped coup - looks old, tired and is increasingly incoherent - Harris has everything going for her. You'd think that shed be streets ahead in the polls - but here we are.
However - as mentioned upthread - Trump himself looks incereasingly dispiraited and half arsed. So - what would happen if he decided to drop out?

This is unlikely, though. Harris is unapologetically and loudly pro-reproduction rights. That will be enough for a big chunk of them.

It might have an impact in terms of turnout in those groups to be fair - when faced with how transparently disinterested in their priorities Trump is some might potentially decide not to bother. In terms of evangelicals actually going and voting for Harris though, seems unlikely I agree.

Staggering how many women supporters Trump has. I mean, back in The Apprentice days, I guess lots of women might've fancied themselves the potential next trophy wife Mrs Trump, and social media wasn't what it is today.

But nowadays those women surely can't be ignorant as to his misogynistic comments about women and misogynistic attitudes more generally, his flawed character and criminal behaviour, the lurch to the right and taking away women's rights.

I get how some (racist) guys might see him as a guy's guy, might find him relatable, but what do the women see in him? How can any woman support him? How can so many women support him?

I think its a mix of things, but predominantly those who fit in categories 1 & 2:

1. Women who're clueless about politics, being guided by their 'good Christian' MAGA menfolk and their mansplainin' and dutifully believing what they're told and then doing what they're told (ie. good women, as trump would call them, not nasty women with minds of their own);

2. Women (actual nasty ones) who don't like women (or brown people) and couldn't give a shiny shit what he is, says or does as long as he continues to represent their own hateful, misogynistic, bigoted and racist views;

3. Women (proper crazy ones) who look at this and wish they were at the receiving end of it.



Not even specsavers can save those in the no.3 category.

He also had a go a at the recent downward brevision of jobs (revised downwards 830,000)...financials were precalling it at around 1 mill but he used the official announced. They were interviewing the Secretary of Commerce about it at the DNC ..she said she didn't believe Trump coz he always lies...He wasnt. Then said she wasn't aware of the data... He's got himself a cry wolf problem (deservedly) but Dems aint that much better ..that's politics
