Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!

Oddly there seems to be two versions of the album on TBP; One is as you would expect, the other is an exceedingly low bitrate and all the songs are 40 minutes+ long....

WTF??

I have both, but have not listened to the weird long one in it's entirety as it would take me half a day!

Don't know if this is weird, corrupt, repeating MP3's or whether these are leaked studio original versions, pre-editing or what.

They seem to be genuine long versions of the songs on first, brief investigation.

I'm not too sure...it's very close in feel to the Grinderman album, which isn't a bad thing, but I expected something a bit different.

I suspect in years to come, he'll be the one we look back on and go, "yeh, I always knew he was going to be a stayer"

TBF, 25 odd years ago I'd only have given him a couple of years to live, or at least expected a Johnny Thunders style protrated demise.

As it is, he's about the only person I can think of whose work I still enjoy as much as I did when I was 19, albeit for completely different reasons. He's actually aged gracefully, which is pretty fucking rare.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will announce single and tour news soon.

I've had it for a few weeks.

Not listened enough to have bonded with it yet. :D

Lyrical highlight for me so far is:

Our myxomatoid kids spraddle the streets
We've shunned them from the greasy-grind
The poor little things
They look so sad and old
As they mount us from behind
I ask them to desist and to refrain
Then we call upon the author to explain

:cool::cool:

first impression is very impressed with it i must say. a proper good album, blues and beauty, grind and grit, and lyrics & a voice that you could listen to endlessly.

second listen is even better. damn fine music.
