Did You Vote LibDem?

I suspect that the Great British Public naturally want good news and reassurance. So the coalition will spin out the fluffy bunny stuff for as long as possible c/o media. But ... do Cameron and Clegg not imagine that families are fucking doing the sums?

Regretably a lot of them are probably waiting for The Sun to do the sums for them

Yeah the same people that wandered into the polling booth and wondered where the form with Cameron/Brown/Clegg/Griffin was, and what the other vote was about that they could put three crosses against. Good luck on trying to explain AV and getting someone to put more than just a "1" next to there preferred candidate.

New to this thread, but no I didn't vote for the Lib Dems, and in fact never have, anywhere I lived.

Particular reason last Thursday was that the LDs are currently in coalition with a small number of Tories here on Swansea City Council and even well before the last coupla days I'd decided that I don't like coalitions between the Tories and the LDs! ;) :hmm:

The lib-dem in all it's natural arrogance here. Rare to see one so clearly, they normally adopt some sort of cuckoo-ish disguise.

Another one outed. Just do one.

It's a rare thing for me to pick someone up for their grammer or spelling. But such arrogance and snobbishness at others' supposed lack of intelligence justifies an exception.

You Tory cunt.

Spare a thought for David Laws; the Lib Dem who, as Chief Secretary to the Treasury, will be the Tories whipping boy for the cuts and an electoral liability for his own party. It'll be lonely at the top.

Can't defend the typo above obviously - in my defence I'm only mentioning what someone said when they came out of my polling station last week and what several people have said on the news over the last couple of days e.g. a lot of people don't seem to know how to vote, and people in Scotland struggle with the AV style system. As I said on Page 2 of this thread - I didn't vote Tory as I didn't agree with my local candidates principles. Thanks for the kind words though.

Key architect of the Orange Book - tory in all but party card. On of the 3 or 4 safe-ish SW whig-tories. Of course he's millionaire private school and oxbridge - went without saying didn't it?

Is flash an actual Tory or a Lib Con Tory? :hmm:

(Not really seen his posts much til now)

He's a sneering arsewipe for sure.

Former Tory supporter, voted LD this time around as I didn't agree with the Local Tory candidate or the party under DC, disagreed with the LD's but disagreed with them less than anyone else and had to vote for them to stop the Tory. Wasn't really happy about it - but you have to vote I guess.

Don't normally post on the politics board.

I voted LibDem this time because the sitting MP bought a 2nd home even though he is a Croydon MP. I am a Tory voter but I will never vote for him ever. Tbh they all seemed to offer the same deal just with a slightly different twist. Labour are in a nice place to oppose stuff they probably would have had to cut if they were in power anyway.

That's Richard Ottaway isn't it? Pretty much the same as why I voted LD this time around, our Tory PPC had some very strong religious beliefs that I disagreed with. Totally agree with the point you made about Labour - we have to cut or otherwise we end up like Greece thanks to our EU membership. Good luck to David Laws I guess, him and the LD's will probably get buried for what's coming.

Pre-97 when I lived over the boundary in Sutton & Cheam I had to suffer the indignity of having Olga Maitland as my MP [shudders]

And, of course, the inability to link the economic with the fetished 'freedom'. Or maybe the refusal to rather than inability to.

when they mentioned this word 'freedom' today, for a moment i thought they are using bush's the triple fuck you 'freedom' (by the triple fuck you i mean the 'freedom, faith, family' platform). bush used it to get the 'scared of 9/11' vote.

what did the lib dem con couple use it for? the scrapping of the identity cards?

moon23 above certainly did, not sure the actual party did use it relation to that. More specifically he used it in support of an agenda that is based entirely in the right of an individual to whatever they want and wider society be damned - don't care if you're getting fucked over at least i don't have to show my ID ate tesco. A total separation of the issues. Thatcherism in action, and no wonder he's so shit hot excited about this new tory govt he worked his arse off for.

Can anyone find me a worse article than this?

(How much do people like Glover get paid for this 'free' shit anyway? The NUJ should have the pompous cunts cards)

Quite right, Shona Smith; good woman.
Why didn't she burn if before the election, when Clegg said he'd try to work with the biggest party? Did she think he meant, "Unless they're subject to tribal hatred, in which case, I won't"? Apparently so.

Maybe the party said they would and winked they wouldn't? Wouldn't that be off for the whigs to do? Maybe she wanted to wait and see if it was true, having already learnt of the lying way of the leadership?

Yes, the one he wrote in February this year with the immortal line:

You might not love Cameron, but you should hope that he succeeds

ineterestingly he has been Matthew Paris's (ex-tory mp now times columnist) partner for several years.
