Desert Island Crisp

One of my favorites dishes for posh date nights when I am trying to impress a woman:

Large bag of cool dorritos, place in overn dish

Melt cheese on top of them under the grill

Pour one Tin of siansburys chilli con carni on top of the dorritos

Poor quacamolie on top

Enjoy.
Should be the chilli, then the cheese. Otherwise, a great idea. I’ll need to try it.

Possibly

Iirc there was a very low budget advert for these shown in N.I. in the 80s. It featured a generic “Ulster Granny” and Dennis Taylor (who’d recently won the World Snooker Championship). In it, Granny hands Dennis a King crisp to which he declares “There’s enough flavour there to sink the pink!” before proceeding to do just that. I recall thinking it was a bit smutty at the time 😉

Nik Naks nice and spicy. I think I put about 6.5k packs of them in during my pot years
These are brilliant, they were the only thing that really hit the spot, stonedly, with ribena. Haven't had for years but giant multipack on shopping list very glad they still exist.:thumbs:

It'd have to be cheese and onion, ground up it would make an ingredient to add to island food, both fish and veg and meat.

Always found Mcoys to be executive or luxury chrisps. But like luxury or executive cars, can be no fun to drive.

Often the cheaper end of the market was more interesting, satisfying. Middle class crisps are great in theory but I still head towards space invaders in heart.

Think we're about the same age, did you ever have Ghostbuster crisps?

They remain to this day, the worst crisp or crisp like snack I've ever tried. Worse than Twiglits. They tasted of rust and stale cheese.

Short lived for very good reason.

It's not a rule, but with chrisps money doesn't always buy a better experience

Oh totally.

There used to be these things called Suppa Crunchies. A much nicer knocoff Wotsit only available in corner shops. And Space Invaders, (not Raiders) had a mini comic strip on the back and cost 10p IIRC.
