Look like some of the ermine moths -fantastic stuff. Lots of summer moths pupating now.Certainly not vine weevils. Will get my mothing field guide after my dinner.

Probably posted this before, but in the 70s when I was a kid my parents grew veg in the back garden. We had a row that we were responsible for but I was completely happy sitting there for hours watching the insects destroy the plants. They're amazing little beasts.

I was on the right lines then... They do look fucking terrifying. But I mean they're processing your waste and turning into quite pretty moths that are probably great for your local bat population. Keep on colonising. Just er... stick to the compost bins please.

Oh I LOVE wetas! Never saw one in the wild. I'd love to see one in real life. Absolutely amazing creatures.
