Are we only talking specific drugs here? Are long term heroin users susceptible? If not, why not? Is campanula into the Protocols? Me and I think Bahnhof Strasse wouldn't turn down a pill today if it was dove 90s. Do we count?

As my comment apparently triggered this - I said druggy and referenced a subculture (PsyTrance). They came together, didn't say all drug users were susceptible. But a community loaded with transcendental 'truth' seeking and with a few conspiracy nuts and Hippy Fash thrown into the mix is a good breeding ground for nonsense. A load of psychedelics probably help promote CTs too.

I dunno, prob not explaining myself that well. It isn't the ones who got into smack, it's the ones who never got over that trip culture stuff. 90% of my old lot still use drugs to some degree, I don't really mean that, I mean something about a specific drugs culture. In another generation they'd have become hari krishnas or moonies or something

We all do it, though. My experience is only of the prevalence of conspiracist stuff amongst people I met over a decade or so who were massively into psychedelics (acid dmt mushrooms not really e).
Don’t know why you’re so upset about people thinking aloud on this one planetgeli when it’s been clearly spelled out repeatedly that nobody is saying anything idiotic about all people who enjoy or take drugs).

I dunno, I think there is a link, more of a cultural thing than anything. Going back to my old lot, we all battered trips and mushies, it's the ones who were into the culture/identity of it that went conspiracist, the question everything counter culture sort of thing. The few who went far right were all in the splinter who went off into the identity of being a football hooligan (which, again, loads of us dabbled in - it's the ones who based their identity around it - also this was wrexham so should clarify that most who went into the football lad identity went to a sort of left republican political position too tbf).

Definitely part of the wanting to see order, to feel you have some special insight or are party to it, to make sense of a confusing world. Which probably speaks to Ax^ idea of some parents drawn to the online conspiracy melure. I think an element as well of over confidence in their interlectual ability. And to be serious, middle classness aligned or informing that. So far as imbewed with an sense of self belief, ability to achieve, get a good job. I went to a good school, I'm not an idiot, I wouldn't just fall for any old shit. My family are friends with doctors and academics.

Anyway I could be well into UFO shit if I weren't so jaded / lazy and aware of what a massive waste of time it would all be.
