Curtain Twitching: New neighbours appear to have moved in

Intense day of curtain-twitching (well blind-twitching actually) as there appear to be new folk in the house behind me... hanging around in their garden, doing stuff..

Deeply unsettling, I cope less well with these things as I get older.

Cat doesn't seem himself either..

Hope they turn out to be decent neighbours. I've had a couple of bad experiences, most recently this one.

A couple of months ago we noticed that our neighbour across the road had put a camera in a first floor window directly across from our bedroom window. He's super nosy and judgemental and we haven't spoken since he told me overweight people shouldn't be allowed to work in healthcare and I told him he's a nasty piece of work and should fuck off.

I started going out every day and filming the camera which peaked the interest of a few local people I'm friendly with. One of them started a campaign of very explicit mooning and others contributed hand signals. He must have been checking the footage as within a week the camera was gone.

My downstairs neighbour sent me an anger tax about mrs21 feeding feral cats , told him to speak to mrs21 (he is scared of mrs21) he asked if we could chat on Saturday . Saw him this morning , had an amicable chat , he didn't mention anything

A few years ago I was trying to sort out a neighbour dispute , downstairs neighbour (in a block, had a camera on a bike where the bike light would be ) it was pointed to the stairwell & walkway upstairs. She was convinced upstairs had broken in to her flat previously (but not taken anything) upstairs objected to the camera , and foiled it with sheets hung over the railings on the balcony this went on for months , Police were involved ffs . Eventually upstairs (a leaseholder) just sold the flat & fucked off. Apparently the two used to be friends .

Neighbour disputes are constant in my job ffs .

One I had a few years involvement with had been going on since the mid 80s , started with a drunken fight , it crossed generations , original bloke couldn't be arsed , so his son took over , against the next door , mum continued. I'm not supposed to have favourites but preferred the loveable rogue to the mum/son tag team.

It's probably still going on.
