Thanks guys, only took 9 hours to get there so its doable for anyone, I almost gave up the second day because I was so bloody awful and making no progress

Still throwing away more pots than I manage to throw properly but when it works it looks bloody good :)

I've made these for myself.
In my first year at college I was going to make an anticlastic bangle with silver backed copper. I started it and it was going well until it suddenly snapped.:facepalm: I realised that the copper was too fine compared to the silver and I was working the silver too hard. I was really pissed off as I considered it wasted and I chucked it in my scrap box.
Anyway, this week I dug it out and turned some of it into reversible earrings. I will always wear them as an odd pair though because that's what I like.

Can someone talk to me about decoupage paper please?

I've got a small mache animal - to be decorated by the girl. She may well choose to paint/glitter it, but if she wants to add paper too, what is decoupage paper? Is it just patterned or is it thin/glossy/something special?

I think I might have some origami paper kicking about with pretty patterns on it.

edit: ignore me, google answers most things eh

I'm making this chain with round and oval links for a friend. It still has a way to go with filing and polishing. Once it's finished I'll be attaching a silver locket with a tiny St Christopher inside. Her late father gave her the St Christopher about 20 years ago when she first went travelling. It's hard work, because links are bloody fiddly but I don't mind because I'm enjoying making it and in the end it will be something really special to her.

It's often just got a pattern which is easy to cut out and more or less the right size. You can buy decoupage paper, but there's quite a mark up for it, and IMHO it's not necessary for what the girl will be doing with it - cut up wrapping paper or origami paper would probably do. :)

Bugger, I've already had to tell the friend that I'm making the chain for that the 'silver charm' she's worn since her first trip to Lesbos many years ago isn't silver and I can't incorporate it into the chain. Now that I'm about to attach the locked I've seen that it's only 825 silver. It might be ok to solder onto to it but I'm not sure so waiting for expert advice from my college tutor.

Super glue? :D

I really want to learn something new this year. I hoping to draw or paint or both but I've not signed up for anything yet.
