I remember in Lockdown v1 I read somewhere that it was worth spending £50-60 on a set. Contrary to that the other day a colleague suggested £20 would get me exactly what I needed (grade 2 back and sides, grade 3 on top, although I may go 2 all over to avoid a shitty-looking step, that no one other than shop staff will see).

£20 will be fine - it's easier if you get one that's got 'grading guards', but a 1-2-3/whatever cut is quite possible without them.

I'm using a £20 whal job that's about 15 years old.

A splash of WD40 each time keeps it going.

I got myself a set of clippers off Shavers.com, and they arrived yesterday. I'm pleased to say I've now done a much better job than my debut last summer, when I used clippers borrowed off my neighbour.

You can gain quite an intimate knowledge of the anatomy of the back of your head by doing it yourself, by touch
