oh my god! I have some of those but would love some of the others.

I saw that Acen track on sale for £40 on some website the other day...

the same guy often furnishes me with great stuff. he hasn't any idea what any of it is worth (and, tbf, always has a load of shit too).

i only had 10 minutes, and it looked like there was loads more obscure rave & disco in his piles... he does a boot market behind my house on sundays, so i might well see if he's still got some then.

i'll let you know if there's anything good. :D

Genius. What car boot sale was it, and when does it take place??

tis in preston sorry... and that's the best score i've had for some time - usually it's all perry como & tijuana brass albums.

every tuesday & thursday on the victorian markets if you end up here for some reason...

And those awful Top of the pop's albums that don't even have the real artists on them :)

i picked up an ORIGINAL, still shrink-wrapped copy of ron trent 'altered states' on warehouse records from a cancer relief shop a year or two ago.

for 49p !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i nearly came across it when i came across it, likes. :D

there is one of them which is worth a fortune, as a young david bowie sings on it.

never seen it anywhere, mind...

and, as i discovered recently, another which features the BBC TOTP 'house band' doing a cover of 'pretty vacant' which is worth a bomb as well.

Which ones did they have to re-record? Parts 1-3 had Bond samples and there was a Part 4 which didn't (IIRC)??

Presumably they would be identifiable because of a later Production House catalogue number or label?

(trainspotters in the house unite!!)

:D

:D
the original catalogue number is PNT042A, the re-record is PNT042A-3.

mine is a re-record. already checked... :D

mind you, there's 17 copies for sale on discogs, and the cheapest is £17.50, so it's still a find.

Thank you -checked mine and they all appear to be the original pressings!!! (with original and NOT generic sleeves)

:)

a reasonable score on tuesday - a couple of italo disco comps, a divine album & some other disco things... today:

johnny cash - at folsom prison
johnny cash - america: a 200 year salute in story & song
depeche mode - violator
the breeders - pod
aswad - s/t
aswad - showcase
eddie grant - love in exile
teardrop explodes - kilimanjaro
beastie boys - licensed to ill
rem - dead letter office
soft cell - say hello, wave goodbye 12"

and

vanilla ice - ice ice baby.

4 quid the lot.

a reasonable haul today:

omni trio - renegade snares (mint condition! nice...)
afghan whigs - honky's ladder EP
the auteurs - kids issue (a peel sessions EP by the looks of it)
front 242 - never stop!
robert gorl - mit dir
mark stewart - dream kitchen

5er the lot... probably worth more than that for the omni trio alone, i'd have thought?

Acen trip II the moon. Had all 3 of these back in 1992 were all nicked by a dodgy DJ mate. I always see the huge prices for these and feel all :(
The ones that got away...............

Trax repressed most of their classics around 1995. Most of the actual orginals are, and always were, completely unplayable having been pressed on cheapo recycled vinyl.

perhaps. this was in a stack of records that were clearly part of a collection though, of which the latest releases were 1992ish.

i wonder how the original trax tunes became such classics, loved by people all over the world, if you could only get unplayable versions before 1995?

latest bargin - from Sue Ryder (& the flipside of the Scott Walker story in the charity shop thread)
flipping through the box of records most from £1-£4 - spot a copy of this
f5d11363ada0d2bb6e90d010._AA240_.L.jpg

with no price sticker.
Nearly left it because I was expecting it to more than I had on me (was buying some cds/videos at the same time) - got more money out and went back (thinking it would cost quite a bit) asked for the price, the volunteer behind the counter had to go and ask in the stock room - from the time he took I was expecting it to be £20 upwards
couldn't believe it was only a pound. (put some extra money in the tin)

today:

scott walker - scott 2 (a bit dog-eared, but it should play fine)
desmond decker - the israelites (album)
soft cell - this last night in sodom
public enemy - bring the noise
depeche mode - construction time again
a couple of marc almond solo efforts
some '93 hardcore
