Burger Thread. Yes!

The latent scientist in me is quietly amused at a place called Bunsen that sells burgers.
But the part of me that's going to Dublin shortly is intrigued.
Southside though? Ooooooh. Might be risky for a long standing DNSer. I know Wexford St is only just on the other side of the river, but I am a creature of habit, deeply imbued in traditional lines of hatred and suspicion.

when you are in Dublin look me up!! i'm a Northsider but trust me, this burger is worth traipsing across town to get it...plus, Whelans is just around the corner ;)

Today's lunch, from a food truck thing that pitched up outside the office:

Excellent burger, too much salt on the chips.

fuck, I had this last night: 8 degrees of bacon

bacon burger, bacon salt on the fries, bacon aoili, bacon jam (fuck that was nice), 2 rashers of bacon on top, bacon cheddar, bacon coleslaw, and crispy bacon bits on the salad. The chef suggested it had the equivalent of 24 rashers of bacon in the plate of food (well, the desk drawer of food). It was actually really nice...

Thats quiet a challenge. Bobos is lovely.

Its pretty good but Bunsen kicks some SERIOUS ass....the founder did tonnes of research too, from the Fat Duck to New York street food...like Honest Burgers, its so busy you have to give them your mobile number and they call when a table is free, but its so worth it :)

aporkalypse . Stephen Swineberg should make a tasteful b&w film about that meal.

NICE WORK!!!!

Well they fill you up, and are a great addition to any meal......as long as you put something on them! Otherwise they are just tasteless plate filler.
Yes but if you just have a plain burger patty with nothing on it, it's there just as sustenance really.
It's only when you put things together they come alive.
Just because we choose to eat things with/on our chips doesn't make them noy wonderful things in their own right.

Hot chips being eaten out of the paper on a cold day with just a splash of vinegar and some salt is a great pleasure.

i would side with Yets, that without ketchup or a sauce of some kind, chips would feel pointless to me (even if made of Maris Piper potatoes, tripple fried in beef dripping and served with sea salt and malt vinegar). I understand his concern, it would feel like getting half dressed.

I mean plain chips, with nothing on, no salt, vinegar, anything!!

Crap/not crap? Let's settle this once and for all!

I'm hoping there's a thread that I've not seen as I'm just checking alerts as I'm in the pub.

I've showed Chemistry the https://www.fiveguys.co.uk concept but he's also not been to Byron. Red dog saloon is too far. :hmm: there is an honest burger down the road.....
