Burger Thread. Yes!

Oh yeah. That picture of the memphis burger (peanut butter, jelly) the other week was a bit rubbish; I mainly got darkness and bacon.

Lunch update. Byron.
SMOKY

very nice. Not entirely sure how smoky (that looks wrong, smokey?) it was as had had very smoky beer beforehand. Had about four chips (the skin on version) and onion rings.

this weeks BOTW is a venison burger (blueberries & shallots in the mix), topped with fried shallots & dolcelatte, chilli & mint & ginger jam underneath. Red cabbage, onion & green pepper slaw, fries & mixed leaves. Think I need to consider joining a gym.

My mouth is seriously watering....well done

Now you're drooling over posh Italian blue cheese vension burger with blueberries and a ginger mint jam?

I would never choose it myself, but the meat looks good and I would eat it. I'm also a sucker for fried onions, and the shallots look nicely browned. I always opt for a patty with processed cheese, and salad over a rather poncified burger like this, but that doesnt mean I wouldnt wolf it down if the ingredients are good (even if it comes with 'blueberry and ginger mint jam' instead of ketchup, mustard and pickles). Rocket is never a replacement for iceberg lettuce but let the hipsters do what they want.... The use of blueberries is an interesting (and odd) feature here - how was it? The chips also look disappointing (was gonna comment on that, but didnt want to wreck yer buzz...)

I don't want to argue, lets just agree to say you're a burger class traitor, seduced by petite-bourgeoisie condiments and dressings. Okay? Good.

What's wrong with trying variations? You don't want to eat the same thing all the time.

Nothing. Just cheeseypoof and I had a small disagreement about 20 pages ago, where cheesy announced that "rocket was too posh for burgers". And now he's drooling over a venison blueberry burger with posh Italian BLUE cheese, and a mint ginger jam. FFS.

Might get some venison now. Or croc meat. I fancy an exotiburger.

must make time to ring the weird meats man

A nephew of my dad allows deer hunting on his land. (there is serious deer overpopulation in his part of Ireland and they need to be culled). He gets a abundance of dear, and it trickles down to us on occasion. Vension burgers are v nice.

DotC do you know a exotic meat specialist? Or is the "weird meats man" a creepy butcher who lures tots into his mobile butcher's van, like a crappy paedo. Cause thats the mental image you've provided me with.

And not in a good way

The first White Spot opened in 1928, and they've been making a Triple O burger ever since. They're delicious, which just goes to show that looks apparently can be deceiving - although when I look at it, I don't see how it looks much different from any other hamburger.
