Burger Thread. Yes!

You then feel the need to shower afterwards...and eat a nice, healthy salad. Cleanse all the shite from your system :D. Or is that just me... :hmm:

I like to have a shower the morning AFTER. And no salad needed like EVER (to be honest, I only eat salad cos its 'healthy..');)

Pray tell, where is this "Brigadoon"?
Well...I know they do in some US locations at least. Doubt they do here in the UK, although with all the work fare slaves they have toiling away for them you think they could organise some sort of home delivery system...

Some place in Liverpool offers McDonald's delivery... It's very common in the Far East as well.

But, Mr Lad, that is a bolt on service - added value - if you will - a delivery service offered by a third party NOT a McDs sanctioned delivery service and an additional charge of £6 per order if my eyes don't deceive me

My local "chippie" on a £10 order gives me free delivery and I am in the arse end of nowhere - granted - towards the end of this month, I shall live not even a thumping bass away from the Pilton Festival - but the other 51 and a bit weeks of the year AEoN holds true

Scally chancers / Free enterprising entrepreneurs - take your pick - but a McD delivery service it is not

So McDs - are you missing yet another trick - what with your part-day breakfast and no home delivery, couple that with your zero hours contract - why you could probably even get the delivery person to pay for their own fuel whilst delivering in their own vehicle as well

Just give it time, I'm sure I read recently that the Golden Arches are facing declining profits, they won't sit on their laurels for too long. I'm equally surprised you can't buy frozen McDonalds food in the supermarket. Why wander to your local Maccy D's when you've got a 4 pack of BigMacs in your freezer?

Someone give me a job :D

Never going to happen - whilst McDs up against a quality "independently produced" chain might be utter shite - at least it's consistent shite - imagine the culinary horrors that could end up being associated with the "Golden Arches" brand when produced outside of their strictly controlled quality environment - there is a certain amount of irony kicking in there but even so - the horror, the horror

You can buy frozen food from fast food places in the States. Does well there. Can't think of one reason why a frozen BigMac would be any different to the one made at McDonalds. Take 'em out the box, microwave on full for 2 mins and there you go, McDonalds at home. It could work, McDonalds have the money and the brain power to make it work.

Edit: There's also enough ''feckless unwashed'' around to make it worth McDonalds time. The frozen/chilled meal market in the UK is one of the/the most competitive in the world, we eat more than any other. I'd buy a box of frozen McNuggets just for the sake of saying I've done so.

Really?

As in

REALLY??

Not disputing as you obviously have "inside knowledge" of these delights

But

Really???

Aye, I know Burger King have sold a few of their things for the home market, as have TGI Friday (french fries I think). You can also buy frozen White Castle sliders that, I'm told, are 100% identical to the one's you buy from the fast food outlets, weirdly identical.

I know it's not an official McDonald's service. I can't see them ever offering delivery when their profits are so huge. They don't need the hassle of delivery costs, cars, time taken to deliver etc.

How have those bastards in the far east got mcdees delivery and I haven't. I hope they choke on it! the bastards

well out of order

A Big Mac and fries for £1.99 is pretty decent though. Give the Filet voucher to someone more needy than yourself.

My iPad just autocorrected Big Mac to add capital letters :hmm:

As this is a burger thread I thought I'd mention that I did a village fete BBQ over the May bank holiday. As I was in charge I went for the best meat I could get hold of. I got them through a friend with a catering company so after discount each 6oz burger was £1.25 (before VAT). They called them Steak burgers and the cows were from a named farm.

The bread came from a local bakery and was cooked the morning of the fete. The cheese was emmental slices. The night before I spent hours caramelising the onions (salt, water, sugar, butter, balsamic vinegar). No one was interested in having lettuce in the bun!

Plenty of people came back to ask about the meat or to say there were some of the best burgers they have had and no one complained about the £3.50 price tag! Despite going for the best quality the BBQ made almost £200 profit for village funds.

I didn't eat one as I'm a vegetarian!

I put on Hallumi burgers for the veggies - but I don't suppose this thread is the place to mention the details of these!
