'Bleeding' vegan burger is an 'existential threat' to beef' whines NZ MP

Had my first ever bleeding burger on Saturday. I'd asked for no cheese, yet it came covered in cheese, so sent it back and they rushed out a non-cheese covered one, which was raw in the middle and bleeding. It was fine, but not sure it's that clever to eat that kind of shit too often.

Still probably a shitload healthier that some of the meaty burgers you can buy!

Where did you buy it, by the way?

I wouldn't mind trying one. If it really has the taste and texture of meat, great.

But why do vegans want to eat food that tastes like meat?

I tried an Impossible Burrito when I was living near a Cali-Mex in the summer and it was a big disappointment - the taste and texture of the Impossible stuff was just odd and their regular veggie burrito was a lot better, going to give the 2.0 version a chance though.

U ok hun?
You're the one that seems to be posting bizarre drivel about meds and making jokes about mental health. Maybe you should step away from the computer for a bit because I'm not sure you're going to cover yourself in glory if you continue on this trajectory.

Seriously, wind down the paranoia a little, eh?

Yes, you prefer dead animal pink goo, probably raised on fuck knows what weird chemicals/hormones etc.
Some producers of plant-based meat (vegan in composition) use an accelerated heme synthesis process involving soy root leghemoglobin and yeast, adding the resulting heme to items such as vegan burger patties to give them the taste associated with meat

I've no particular problem with it, but it does appear to involve weird chemicals...

Oh sorry, I thought you meant it was a vegan one. I've been trying the Iceland range of vegan foods. The 'No Bull' sausages are bloody awful although the burgers aren't bad.

I thought those burgers are really pretty good. They work on a BBQ too (the packet says just to bake or fry them, but rubbed with a little olive oil they come out great).
