Birkbeck university

erm, time to back out yet?!?! that might just be too scary a concept!

It's like a fraternity initiation thingy. You have to see the naked men dance and you have to drink beer while you watch and then you must go and steal UCL's goat mascot afterwards and then combine all the elements to create a spectacle of untold debauchery.

It's education.

and the beer's cheap.

they're practically giving it away.

I saw loads of posters up last night during a brief rendez-vous with onemonkey, but they're all in the bar. Note to ed, the posters promise "top tunes," I hope that precludes any striptease music.

Just realised I'm going to a party in Hackney on Friday night. What was I thinking.

What time is this mini-line-beck-off thing kicking off and until when?

I've been there before but I am always very drunk and I get lost everytime I go there.

Can someone post up detailed directions please?

Is there a name for the night yet?

I quite like Billy Birkbeck's Bumper Big Bevy Bonanza, but I'm not sure if it'll give the right impression.

bar is already open

tunes from 7pm but most lectures don't finish til about 9pm so not much point in starting the cabaret before then..

goes on til midnight :)

I've got my first Birkbeck lecture tonight... in 2.5 short hours, in fact!

The mini-offline thing sounds good... hmm, will have to have a think. I'm not sure I can really afford it money or time wise, despite the booze being cheap and all, and plus I have a very exclusive 30th birthday party to go to the next night. ;) But it would be cool to see Dub DJ again, and to meet lots of Urbanite Birkbeckers... agh, dilemma!

Good luck. I had mine yesterday, though it wasn't a lecture but an induction. I assume it wil be the same for you as it's you first year too. Be warned if you are in Mallet Street though. Those seats in the lecture theatre are mighty comfy. Be careful not to nod off!

Oh, and that MC Rubbish Dub fella might be at the same bash, innit ;)

also i believe the bar's no smoking until 2130.

Poster!

I decided that 'Billy Birkbeck's Bumper Big Bevy Bonanza' wasn't perhaps the best name, so after hours of headscratching, I've come up with 'Tinseltown.' Which I rather like.

i don't believe that.. is that new??

it always used to be the only place in college you could ever smoke.. get everyone popping in for fag breaks all day.. can't believe they'd change that
